Trip Report Corn Dogs & Margaritas... Live!! *Complete!*

So I'm sitting here in the sunshine at the Boardwalk, after dropping our rental car off at the Dolphin (been in Orlando a week visiting the "other" parks- shhh! :p And the beach :)) and after picking up strawberry margaritas and some corn dogs, whilst thinking what to name my live trip report... well I looked down and there you go!:D

image.jpg

So, I'll post more later and a bit about us and the trip from our resort (Coronado Springs! Yaaaay!), but for now I'll bid you adieu and hope you'll follow me along on my Disney (Birthday! :D) adventure that will DEFINITELY involve many photos of food and drink and disney awesomeness!!

YAAAAAAAaaaaaaaayyyyyy...!!

You're a rock star @Ariel1986 No way would my husband stand in line for anything at 2am! LOL That pizza?!?! Sausage and Pepperoni!!? Will be having the very same at Via Napol in November LOL OMG Cronut... she said cronut... yummmmm!! Have fun!!!

Lol thanks! I'm not sure how I got my other half to stand in line either! I think after his fourth visit some of the magic has slipped in...! :D
And yes the pizza was huge!! But amazing! Of course. I like pepperoni but Russ likes spicy sausage so we got both lol! And we managed all but one slice ha ha ha! Probably wasn't the best idea to have a Cronut soon after... That thing is like fried butter!! But in a good way.... :hungry: Loool! :D

Sooooo....
It's 6pm. And I've just recovered. Oh my goodness Epcot before MK last night was not a good idea!
Today was a resort day, which luckily was planned anyway but we had to miss a reservation at Trails End :(
Never mind though, we might get to go again tomorrow hopefully if there's any space...?!

And I haven't posted any pics from last night yet or commented on the previous day! Doh! Live trip report with not so much reporting. I'll post a few pics of food to make up for it and hopefully get some more up later :)

Blood Orange Margarita... Where it aaall began.... (hey it's got oranges in it so that's food, right?? :D)

image.jpg

Tangerine Cafe chicken platter & lamb wrap with baclava for dessert

image.jpg

Me having to finish a pint of recently purchased sangria as we weren't allowed to take alcohol out of Epcot (logical, of course... can't have the alcohol escaping! :D)

image.jpg

3am Caseys...

image.jpg

There was also a chocolate soft pretzel, caramel apple oatmeal cookie and some other drinks that were partly consumed... and also consumed before a photo was remembered to be taken!

Recap Fri 23rd May

Epcot

421.JPG

During the day Friday we went to Epcot! We had a FP+ for Mission Space first but I chickened out (I don't like spinning rides or feeling nauseous! Well, pretty sure most people don't like feeling nauseous lol!) so we wondered around Mousegear and then headed to our next FP- Test Track, woo! This was my first time on the "new" version. I really liked it! I don't know if it's because it was so long since I have been on the old one but the outside track seemed different? I might be imagining it but anyway, I liked the whole ride!

424.JPG

Our awesome and practical car design...

425.JPG

I then Facetimed my sister for a catch up and to walk her around World Showcase for a while before our lunch! Yes I'm one of those crazy people showing a phone around the place....

Then, our ADR... Via Napoli!!!! :D :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :D We were paying out of pocket for this one to save for some signatures we've booked so we just ordered a large spicy sausage pizza with extra pepperoni. I think Russ' face when it arrived says it all ha ha! And look at the evil stare of jealous hunger the lady in the background is giving! Ha ha ha!

430.JPG

We did it! Yes... the whole pizza... with slices the size of your head... :D

432.JPG

After crawling out of our pizza coma into the hot HOT sunshine we strolled around the rest of World Showcase. Popped in a few shops and then into the Boulangerie Patisserie to look for dessert... yummy! Unfortunatley we were still too stuffed (half a pizza the size of a tire will do that too you...) and I knew I wanted to try the Cronut later so alas, no treats today! Was too hot outside to buy some to take home either.

435.JPG

I love these little stalls and paintings by the wall here, that's very much like Paris! :inlove:

437.JPG

And so after chuckling our way through England (not sure if I've mentioned yet that's where we're from! Across the Pond!) we eventually arrived at the Refreshment Stand where they sell CRONUTS!!! :hungry: :hungry: :hungry:

Fried sugary butter everyone, fried sugary butter...

438.JPG

So after upping our cholesterol we made our way to our final FP+ of the day, Spaceship Earth, woo! Even though the park was fairly quiet today I thought, Spaceship Earth had a 20 min wait so our FP+ saved us some time lol.

Then it was back on the delightfully freezing bus back to Coronado! To prepare for the nights activities...

More recap to come later...!

Great trip report! Just goes to show how much fun a couple of adults can have at Disney. Nothing better than good food, adult beverages and some Disney Magic to pass the days by.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of the trip.

So..

Friday 23rd Evening Recap:

So we headed back to Epcot at about 9pm to get a few drinks and miss the initial evening crowds over at MK- I was noooot going to try Wishes there tonight! We arrived and meandered a bit looking at the pretty lights on each country at WS and then at 9.45pm we actually caught the Star Wars fireworks- great view from the lake in Epcot!

458.JPG
456.JPG
453.JPG

After that we headed to Mexico for the previously mentioned first drink of the night (ok first purchased drink, I believe some Bud Light Mango "Limearitas" were consumed before we left... again probaly not the greatest idea...) which was a Blood Orange Margarita... delicious! It was actually last call at Le Cava del Tequila which was probably a good thing!

466.JPG

After that we rode The Three Caballeros (which Russ has never done and I haven't for at least 15 years!!) which was fun with our Margarita filled bellies! ;)
We then walked over to ride Maelstrom (again Russ had never ridden and I don't really remember it from before if I did ride it 15 years ago!) but not before purchasing a chocolate soft sweet pretzel! We also popped into Karamell Kuche where I snack pointed myself a caramel apple oatmeal cookie! :hungry:

Next up we headed over to the China Tea Stand as we wanted a Tipsy Ducks in Love drink- the chocolate, bourbon, coffee and tea mix that sounds weird but is YUUUUM! But nooooo, some darn people in front got the last one! Pesky kids! :p Lol. We did however get some curry pastry pockets which softened the blow :hungry: .
We then headed over to Japan as we wanted something more substantial to work on our blood alcohol levels a little bit but Katsura Grill was closed- nooooo again! And the shop. Oh well. So we kept on walking until we got to Morocco and decided some Moroccan platters at Tangerine Cafe might just do the trick!
After this we decided to get one more drink before heading on the monorail over to MK to see how long we could last! So a couple of Sangria's were purchased (and as I mentioned before those Sangria's were then fairly rapidly consumed on a bench at the park gate as no alcohol can leave the park!) before exiting to the Monorail!

Bye Epcot!

475.JPG

Almost there...

481.JPG

To the Magic Kingdom please Monorail! Look how happy that random lady is to see me taking a photo! Ha ha!

483.JPG

Hellooooooo Magic Kingdom and your 24 hour party!

484.JPG

So... it was pretty busy!! I was expecting it to be busy but maybe die down a bit after 1 or 2am... Oh no, wrong about that!

486.JPG

It was fun though and we rode Winnie the Pooh, watched Philharmagic and got on my favourite, Astro Orbitor. Although Astro seemed to literally spin round twice! So short! Although that may have been my fuzzy brain... ;) (Ssshh, we bought a tiiiiny bit of alcohol in with us... I thought it would help keep us going...Ha! But I know, I know... slapped wrist o_O  :p)

We spent a bit of time in front of the dance party in the hub before grabbing some Casey's at 3am and then realising at 3.30am we were more than pooped! So off to the buses it was.

It was definitely fun to go and the atmosphere was great! I'd go again perhaps... but when we were there at midnight the other day near park closing it was pretty empty and the rides had no lines... so late night extra magic hours may be just as good in future!

Up next Saturday 24th Recap...

Saturday 24th May Recap:

Not too much to report today! Slept in LATE and just stayed at the resort. Was nice to relax though as we've pretty much been non stop since we checked in May 21st (and after arriving May 14th for the non-Disney week before hand)!

I love love LOVE Coronado Springs! :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: :inlove:

365.JPG

So for dinner tonight we went to Maya Grill, the table service at Coronado. We've been there previously and enjoyed it, but even though it was nice it didn't seem as great this time. I forgot to take pictures of the entree's but we both had enchilada's of some kind and they were nice. Dessert was the best though- this chocolate panacotta with churro style wafers was deviiiiigne!!

Chips and salsa to start

Also I forgot to mention I bought this awesome cup previously (LOVE Tangled) and saw this one too- cool for Spaceship Earth fans!

And that was pretty much our day yesterday!

I'll report more on today's SWW events soon...

So yesterday was fun! My first SWW! It was a HOT and humid day bleh but hey we were in paradise so what else matters?

We arrived about 10.30 to scope out a parade spot and we actually ended up to the left hand side (if you're looking straight on at the stage) of the stage but in line with it. So we couldn't really see the stage but we were right where the characters & the cars stopped for the stars to get out and on stage and the 501st Legion walked straight by so as we were at the front where we were standing it was great!

044 (2).JPG

046 (2).JPG

When the stars and characters all got on stage however that is when we made an exit as we were sooooo hot and needed food/drink! I did however have FP+ booked for Star Tours at 11.40-12.40 (this genius thought "hey, we can book one for right after the parade!" because no-one else would have that idea would they?!) but the line for FP was ridiculous!! So in search of food we went to see if the line would die down. At first we went to the Backlot Express but again, the lines were ridiculous! The parade crowds had basically shifted 100ft or so towards the nearest food and Star Wars ride! Nevermind, we simply headed down the Streets of America towards the Studio Catering Company (which had normal crowds!) for a Turkey Club Sandwich, Sloppy Joe and Darth Vader Cupcakes! We also passed Chewbacca on the way!
:D

Cupcake melted fairly quickly, look at the sad lightsaber! :D :p
