COP replacement

First let me start off by saying I don't want to loose COP in WDW even though it might fit better in the new DCA.

Here is the senerio:

As some of you might know DCA's new theme will be "Walts's park". The entire front of the park will be rethemed to look like Hollywood when Walt Disney first arrived. The Icon will be a replica of the theater Snow White debued in. The show World of Color will be opening, and other rides will be rethemed. For example you now have Mickey's Fun Wheel, and The Silly Symphony swings.

Disney Management has decided that they will move COP to DCA, no if ands or buts. There is no arguing the move will happen.

While I wouldn't want it to leave the only thing that I would like to see replace it would be Plectu's Galactic Review, which was planned to go where COP wasn in DL at one time. It would have been an Extra Terrestrial ZOO.

What would you replace COP with?

I am hoping that they NEVER EVER DO THIS (and I believe having read your post that your scenario is a proposed fictional one). That being said, I think that Tomorrowland is currently overrun with sort of uninspired "interactive" attractions - SGE, LF, had the Stitch dance show for like a second, Buzz, and while I like 2 of these 4 it's too many right now. They should add mb a dark ride, or a coaster, or something. But the current state of TL is just not doing it for me. A kid friendly small Meet The Robinsons dark ride, that goes fast enough to excite them, mb. But not more of the same that's there plz.

If it was ultimately necessary, something that deals with no animated characters & has a reetro sci-fi feel to it.

COP then is shifted to EPCOT to replace WoL. Well, what's left of WoL.

While it's painful to even consider the idea of CoP being removed...if it had to go ...I would say bring back Horizons and put it in TL it would fit right in obviously it would maintain that classic feel that CoP inspires.

...Also bring Horizons back to EPCOT anyway!!!! Just sayin'

Easy really!

Im pretty sure one of Walt's wishes was that COP has to stay put. (Can be updated) but has to remain.

No this isn't true, according to ledgend he wanted it to always run and never close. He didn't say it had to always be in WDW remeber when he died it was still in DL.

This is hypothetical people!

Honestly, I dont see what the fascination is with COP. I know I am new on here, but I always thought of it as kinda boring. I dont actually believe i have even been in there since 03'. Maybe I just go in the off season but it seems there is no one waiting outside to get in. the only reason I went near the place in sept. is because the gf wanted a pic with stitch.

It's iconic, that's why it's so important. Walt showed it at the world's fair in New York, and at one point it was one of the most visited attraction in the U.S. (I'm led to believe). Also, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but AA's were born from COP. AA's were first used for COP.

Not quite. Audio-Animatronics in general first amazed crowds at Disneyland's Enchanted Tiki Room. The human animatronic made its debut with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln (imagine the Hall of Presidents, with just the one president).

The Carousel of Progress, though, was reportedly Walt's favorite attraction, and in a sense best embodies Walt himself - his optimism, his love of America and Americana history, and his belief in a better tomorrow.

I love the CoP :)

Maybe I'm the only one but when I think of the Magic Kingdom its not even in the top five things I think of. Even if it was one of Walt's favorite attractions didn't he say he wanted tomorrowland to grow and evolve.(don't remember the actual wording). To me COP is actually part of the anti tomorrowland.

Really? I would argue that Carousel of Progress and Space Mountain are really the only thematic anchors to the MK's Tomorrowland these days, in terms of the optimistic spirit and actual foresight that Tomorrowland is all about. Everything else is just a toon-ification.

I personally don't think the COP could really be replaced, its on a relatively small plot of land anyway isn't it? So I think you would struggle to fit a really big e-ticket attraction in anyway.

Agreed also add TTA minus the new script.
