I wonder what this floating thing is just east of Fantasyland station...

That is most likely a construction debris barrier (also known as a turbidity curtain). This is done anytime there is any work done near a shoreline where contaminating the water is a possibility.

I think in this case, they're always there. That's where the train blows out it's condensate and waste water before it refills at that station. Those may be there to collect debris or even to skim any grease/oil that's in the water.

Hazmat teams use something similar to that. They seem to be all along MK's north border stream. Kind of an eyesore, very visible from the WDWRR.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
If anyone feels less lazy than I, you can find Little Red in his Jeep next to Pride Rock, the cast eatery at DAK. It's west of the Avatar plot.

Does anyone know what they did with the styracosaurus statue that used to be at the front of countdown to extinction(now dinosaur) ride?! Is it backstage somewhere or did they sell it?!

Here's one of the Monorail/Steam Train Shop. Notice a monorail in the shop and to the left of it there are at least two monorail tugs visible.

Here's another site kinda well known perhaps. The fireworks storage area, Maple Loop. Nice to have it located near the fire station located at Maple Rd and Floridian Way intersection. Fireworks are top left on map and firehouse is bottom right on map.

Main launch site for fireworks at MK possibly. Area in top left of map is fenced and has maintained gravel area within fence lines. This is in a straight line behind the castle, backstage.
wishes fireworks main launch site.jpg

A secondary location for the fireworks that launch to both sides of the castle are located in the next map image indicated within the red box lines. They are the blue rectangles on the roofs of Philharmagic and Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh/Fairy Tale Hall Buildings.

Correct, the area in the top left corner of your first photo is the north launch site for MK fireworks. And then the 10 rooftop bunkers.

It's amazing how all the fireworks look like they're right over the castle....until you watch them from a resort or Fantasyland. Then it's very obvious.

Though while this is not on Disney property it is still pretty amazing. This location is roughly northwest of Disney property near Hwy 27. I saw it in a video posted by Adam the Woo a while back when he visited the site. Looks like someone likes the Mickey!!

Mickey is in top left of image while Disney property is to the bottom right. I know, property lines are approximate. ;)

While this post may be boring to some, I thought it was quite interesting. Did you know that the steam train goes right through the middle of Pirates ride? The drop in Pirates right before the cannon scene is where you go under the train tracks. I have included a Google map to show how this works. If you look close you can even see a train entering the "tunnel" of the pirates building. The same thing happens at Space Mountain but the train goes over the queue there.

Red denotes POTC building and yellow denotes train tracks.
