I dpn't know if this will help, but I have Roxio Easy CD Creator 5. All you have to do is click on the file you want and click a button labled "convert". You can save it as a WAV or WMA.

Check your CD burner program. Look in the help file. It may have something similar.

Hey, Thanks everyone!

I am a huge audio geek...and I hope to have all my pro studio equipment set up in the house soon...(geeze and I have only been here since March...and it all sits in cases in my bedroom...when I get back from WDW this fall I will set it all up...)

Anywhoo...I have a ton of mp3's on my hard drive...and I wanted to change the music...the windows start up music...and that only accepts .wav's, so I converted the 'Univeral Studios Movie' theme (from the begining when they show the logo when the film starts)..and now I have some really cool windows start up music.. :)

Thanks again. :)

Winamp is a popular MP3 player, but did you also know it can easily convert MP3s to WAV files?

It's easy.. while your song is loaded (pause it), press control + K. The preferences window will pop up. Now go to the "Plug-ins" section, then "Output". Select "nullsoft Disk Writer plugin v 1.0 (x86) [out_disk.dll]". Press the "C onfigure" button. Select the directory where you want the WAV files to save. Click Close.

Now load all the MP3s you want to convert into the playlist window. Click on the play button.. in a few seconds each song will be converted from MP3 to a WAV. Make sure you don't have the repeat button enabled or when it finishes converting all your songs, it will start again at the top of the playlist and start converting them all over again.

When done, hit control+k to get into the preferences window again and remember to switch the Output to "Nullsoft waveOut plug-in [out_wave.dll]" so the next time you use Winamp it plays MP3s again and doesn't convert them to WAVs. I've done it this way for years now. It doesn't appear to be very well known because everyone I explain this to is usually like "Winamp does this?". Sure does! :)
