Wow that is one bright/white room. Its a bit boring for me, but its not offensive. I've never stayed at the Contemporary and this won't eek me in that direction either. I did enjoy the Wilderness Lodge updates however.

The Contemporary did not have an I.P. applied to it before, now, it's not the Contemporary but it's the Incredibles resort. A transformation from a blast from the past view of the future to a cartoon modern. I always saw the Contemporary as a monorail station with rooms to stay in and a few amenities now a cartoon ambiance has been added to the mix.

This one is a mixed bag for me. I love the aesthetic, I hate the way the characters are so in-your-face. The curtains in particular are horrible.

You know The Incredibles is set in the 1960s, right? I'm not saying you have to like the refurb, but this complaint is just factually incorrect.

Do.... do a lot of people think The Incredibles is set in the present or future?

It’s good to know that an original, half century old hotel that has been recognized as an icon of Orlando, built by a man named Disney was somehow “not Disney” and has now been fixed.

Unless it has Disney characters plastered all over it, it isn't Disney enough. I am still wondering which characters Victoria and Albert's will eventually get re-themed to.

Also I am very happy to see that a Contemporary “mini-museum” is on the way. The resort absolutely deserves that. The Polynesian one is so lovely and I hope we get something just like it.

And no mention of Incredibles going into The Wave......could it be the rumored Steakhouse 71?

Everything minus the Incredibles touches is a BIG win. But the IP stuff is really tacky. I’m conflicted because on one hand there is a structural improvement. But on the other the slapping on of character nonsense really detracts from the positives.
I somewhat agree with you. Take out the Incredibles and the room is definitely better. I can't put my finger on it, but something with the room just does not seem deluxe in my opinion. I do like that there is carpet under the beds (I wish they would do that in all of the recent room referbs). But it is like the room is a pod or small container, maybe its how bright it is or even the way they trimmed out the windows/door to the balcony. I have always loved the Contemporary even with the flat sinks. This redesign certainly doesn't make me want to book a room at the Contemporary, that's for sure.
