GF=440sq
Contemp.=436sq
Poly=409sq
YC/BC/BW= 380sq
WL=340
AKL=344/ Deluxe=381

Thanks for the update. Again, I can't be right all of the time. Are you sure the Poly rooms are smaller? They cost more and sleep 5 where the Contemporary rooms sleep only 4.

I like the Contemporary! It's a pretty cool-looking building to me and we always look for it as we approach Disney. We stayed there many moons ago (like 1997) and it was very comfortable. It was around Christmastime though and we didn't really get to the pool. That was the only thing that I think they should really improve on, the pool that is. In my opinion (and take that for the two cents that it's worth), I think the Polynesian and BW have the best pools b/c they included waterslides in the action. I'm sure Disney isn't looking to rehab all the other resort pools to add slides b/c they want people to spend money to go to the Disney waterparks but for parents with smaller children who want to go down slides, it's really not worth spending all that money to spend a day at the waterpark.

I totally got off the subject but other than a good power cleaning or scrubbing to keep us the outside, I think the Contemporary is great! It also has my husband two favorite restaurants...Chef Mickeys (for the character dining) and the Concourse Steakhouse!

Disney is rehabbing all the resorts pools, and the Contemporary's pools were just rehabbed not to long ago. The Poly Volcano slide was just added about a year and a half ago. It's not all about the water parks. Some of the kewlest and most attractive slides are at the resorts (Boardwalk and Beach Club)

I love the Contemporary - the outside may need a face lift, and the water pressure may be poor but it's still a Disney original. The remodeling gave the interior an incredible face lift. The convenience to the Magic Kingdom can't be beat.

Im sure thats the wrong way round cause i was offered the Contemp for my party of 5. It was the cheapest De luxe for 5 as all the others were full suites with a lovely privce if youre staying for a few weeks.

They should put the giant stitch on the side like he was getting ready to eat the next monorail. And I don't think it would scare the kids at all :D

I wasn't overly impressed with the Contemporary's theming, but it was well worth the price. My family (wife, 3 young boys) and I had plenty of space in our Standard view room with the daybed.

You just can't beat a 5-10 minute WALK to the Magic Kingdom for convenience. How often in life can you decide at the spur of the moment to go to the Magic Kingdom and be there 10 minutes later?

Only 22 more days until I can say Epcot is a 5-10 minute WALK ...

The Contemporary is CONSTANTLY updated and made more contemporary. The only thing not touched, and probably never will be touched, is the Mary Blair in the Grand Ganyon Councourse.

Never say never

One Mary Blair mosaic at DL was destroyed to put up a STAR TOURS mural. It had more historical significance than the Grand Canyon one.

Maybe they can give it a TRON makeover. Paint the whole thing BLACK with neon red accents.

I don't think this resort looks very different from resorts you can find outside the disney property--the outside is not well-themed...and at Disney, theming is everything--it's certainly what sets disney apart from the rest...I'm not a contemporary fan; it's too boring for my tastes.

In that case, The All Stars Resorts should be the most expensive and best hotels at WDW, however they are not. That shows how theming is important, but in resort matters it's not what matters.
