I did a search and asked this question on another board but never really got definant answer. Do the machines at the Contemporary take cash or only KTTW cards? Also If anyone has any pics of the laundry room I would love to see them.

TIA :)

If memory serves, the machines take the KttW cards. I'm sure I have at least one pic somewhere of the laundry room. I'll be honest, the Contemporary Magic Kingdom view is my favorite room to stay in but the laundry room is the worst. Our last stay 2 years ago 2 of the 6 washers were broken. The room needed better ventilation because once the driers got going it was like a sauna in there. When I get back to my computer later I'll see if I can locate a pic or 2 for you. :)

Thanks so much for the response. I would love to see your pics. I am so excited to stay here but we will have to do laundry at least once while we are there. I am sure it won't ruin my trip but for the price I would think it would be a little better than the values or the moderates. I think it is kinda weird they only have 1 laundry area for the resort and it is in the garden wing.

My guess is that with the Contemporary being a conference center resort maybe they expect more business-type travelers with shorter stays. Plus, when it was built there was only 1 park so they didn't expect lots of people to stay longer periods of time. We always do laundry because I don't do re-wears between washings and our trips tend to be 10 days long. I don't have 10 outfits for each of us. I'd spend waaaay too much just buying clothes. I've stayed at Pop, Poly, POFQ, AKL, & Contemporary. By far the Contemporary has the worst laundry facility. They really should address that. I wouldn't let a laundry room ruin my trip or dictate where I stay. Laundry is never fun so I just muddle thru. The Contemporary remains my favorite in spite of the bad laundry room. :D

Just a suggestion - pick up a package of those Purex 3 in 1 laundry sheets (the kind you put in the washer and transfer to the dryer) - they are expensive for every day laundry but GREAT for traveling - you can put a few in a ziploc and they weigh nothing - and it's far less expensive than buying it there and there's no risk of spillage in your luggage!

I just picked some up last weekend. We love using them on trips. They are so handy.
