Considering Renting DVC Points

I'm considering renting DVC points for our January '14 trip.

Hoping for a standard BWV 2 bdrm. I would adjust our dates to 01/01 -/01/10 if available.
Looks like I'd need 280 points and availability.

Anyone have direction or tips?.

Those dates are no longer available in any view in a BoardWalk Two Bedroom.

For 12/31 through 1/10, Standard View only has a couple nights open while BoardWalk view has 4 nights available. Pool / Garden View has the greatest availability, but still only 6 nights are open.

New Year's Eve is reportedly the single hardest night of the year to book, and some of that popularity spills over into the new year. Then you have the WDW Marathon events at the tail end of the stay. Many DVC members book their Home resorts right at 11 months for popular events like these.

We rent DVC every year, you usually need to plan to rent 7-12 months out and be a little flexible. Check mouse owners.com, you may be able to find something there.

The problem with trying to rent a 2-bedroom villa at BWV is that it has no dedicated 2-bedrooms. Everything is designed to be what Disney calls a "lock off". This means each 2-bedroom villa is a 1-bedroom villa combined with a studio. Inevitably, the studios go first meaning there are no studios available to combine with a 1-bedroom villa to create a 2-bedroom villa.

Right now, the nights of January 2 to January 8 (7 nights) are available for a 2-bedroom villa at BWV. If these dates work for you, I suggest you book them now, if possible.

Alternatively, BCV has dedicated 2-bedroom villas. It's not my home resort so I cannot check there for you but consider looking into this instead if this interests you.

We booked our trip and we own at BCV from 01/19 through 02/01. (Studio) We did not have trouble book at our window but I have a feeling that it may be hard to get what you want at Beach Club as well since they fill up pretty fast. We always book at 11 months even if we may think we arent going that year just incase because of availability. You may have better luck at Saratoga or animal kingdom...
