Connections Cafe and Eatery

The pictures of burgers with sides, which aren’t included in the price of the burger, strikes me as a bit disingenuous.

The price of a standard burger, fries, and soda will exceed $20 before tax. Good. Grief.
Is that very expensive? Yes. Is that more expensive than a lot of other restaurants? Unfortunately not.

There are about a dozen restaurants within walking distance from me that'll charge the same.

Here's the menu of Marlow's Tavern that I mentioned on the previous menu.

The food at Connections actually looks good. You know what is a crime? Chargely $11 for a hockey puck topped with plastic at Cosmic Rays.

I doubt the burgers at Connections will be anywhere near the quality of a Marlowe's burger, though (the black and blue burger is especially good!). And while Marlowe's is good, it's not like they are the best burgers in the world either.

I'd love to be wrong about that but I just don't see it happening at a Disney QS location.

That was kind of my point. Marlow's serves a dang good burger, but is it really worth $14? Probably not, but that's what restaurants are charging now, so if Connections manages to be in the same ballpark as Marlow's (Cosmic Ray's isn't even in the same stratosphere), the pricing isn't that outrageous for being in a theme park (that has an effective monopolization of food).

The pizzas are listed as coming with a side salad. I'd expect the burgers will likely be "with choice of a side" which would be fries, coleslaw or side salad.

I'm excited to try some of the menu items here and curious if the pizza will be a step above the other QS pizza places. As far as prices...I don't think they are all that bad (so long as the quality of the food is good). Some local chains around me Red Robin etc....are just as expensive (if not a bit more expensive). Happy to see additional food options in Future World....or whatever it's now called.

I certainly hope this is just an oversight on the online menu. It has happened on other menus. I’m unaware of any theme park counter service that will give you a burger on a plate and take your $13. Regal Eagle has similarly complex burgers and gives you

BBQ Burger $13.79

1/3 lb Angus Burger on Garlic Toast topped with BBQ Pork, Garlic Aïoli and Fried Onion Ring served with your choice of side

I not sure about their 'American Classic Burger'. I have never been to a cook out with people slopping Roasted Garlic on their burgers. It sounds pretentious. It seems like the imagineers got it wrong in that case.
I just want somewhere to get the basic park food in Future World. Why does everything have to be a fancy meal? If I am out in the parks hot, steamy and sweaty, I don't want to sit in a fancy restaurant. I just want to grab some chicken tenders and sit in a low light environment for 30 minutes.

Imagineering doesn’t create menus.

I wouldn’t call anything about this menu fancy food.

Let's take a look at just salads, shall we?
* Mediterranean Side Salad - No real description; pictures show unidentified raw veggies.
* General Tso Chicken Salad - Petite Kale Blend, Broccoli Slaw, Red Bell Pepper, Mandarin Oranges, Edamame, Crispy Wontons, Warm Fried Chicken, General Tso's Dressing
* Niçoise-style Salad - Crispy Mixed Greens, Wedged Potatoes, Tomatoes, Green Beans, Olives, White Beans, Dijon Vinaigrette (Plant-based)

Sounds fancy to me -- could just be us country bumpkins. How about a simple spring mix with ranch, cheese and croutons? Or a Cobb Salad?

None of that is “fancy”

I like how the menu looks and I’m sure I will probably try it at least once. I am really disappointed that they won’t be serving the PizzeRizzo pizza here. I guess I will keep having to go to DHS to eat my favorite pizza on property.

I've had that, it was good. Now that you brought it up, I'm hungry.

I also hope this was an oversight (but sadly, I don't think it was). 🤞 We shall see soon enough.
