Connections Cafe and Eatery

A burger, fries, and drink often cost $15-17 at chain fast casual places these days.
A "Big Bacon BBQ Burger" at my local Chili's, which features twice the amount of meat plus fries - $15.59. Add a Coke Zero - $2.99. More food, and arguably better food, for the same price or less than at Connections. Oh wait, I'm in a theme park so that makes the pricing ok, I forgot I'm just supposed to shut up and let them suck the money from my wallet. Sorry, I can't carry that water.

A take-out or delivery sandwich shop over by us (Chicago) - popular place, not a chain. Not a sit down.
Average cost of burger or sandwich (great sandwiches) is between $12.95 and $16.95. Fries are extra and they are $3.99.

These prices at Connections aren't outrageous at all to me. (I still think the wine is expensive though) If where you live it's not as expensive, then I can see it seeming expensive to you.

I think you raise a good point. In a city (like Chicago) they probably don't seem too high. I live 3ish hours from the nearest major city (Indianapolis) and they seem high. I do think it is confusing, however, to separate out the sides - every other Disney quick service in the parks includes them so people will expect them. It's been done purely to increase guest spending without considering how it'll probably put off a lot of guests who'll instead decide to go to one of the quick services which are cheaper once sides are included.

Oh believe me, I hate this business model of fries being separate now. 😬

Both this and the Starbucks location are now listed on the MDE map.

What do you mean by fast casual places? Most sit-down restaurants in my local area are $13-$15 for a burger twice the size plus $3 for a drink. So $18 plus tax and tip. Some of these are $22 before tax and you aren't getting table service. It's pretty overpriced IMO.
Five Guys, which I would consider a fast casual chain, is literally $15 and change even for most of their "little" combinations with a regular drink. Get larger sizes of anything and you're certainly pushing $20. At restaurants like Panera, it's also difficult to get your bill under $12-$13 now unless you go with a half-size/cup portion. I'm not saying Disney isn't overpriced; it always has been. It's just that the differential isn't all that far outside my expectations given the sticker shock I've become accustomed to just from grabbing lunch at work these days.

I confess I saw your Facebook post about this - and it’s the first central spine rebuild news item I’ve clicked on for over a year. Quite sad when this is what gets me the most interested about the rebuild.

But we did frequent Electric Umbrella - was kind of a ritual as our amused friends will agree.
Was one of our’s as well…
Hated to see it go.

I’ll try this one, but so far… meh.
More over the top nonsense as is typical with their usual offerings these days…

Burgers look very tasty, the mural looks fantastic, and prices seem extremely fair!

At Marlow's Tavern here in Atlanta, burgers range from $11-16. Here they cap at $13. Very fair pricing for desirable food within a theme park.

Funny to see people complain about pricing when we very well knew this was going to happen. If people pay this much for a burger then that's what they'll charge.

McDonald's prices have even skyrocketed. I used to get a meal for $5 (2 double cheese burgers with drink and fries) pre 2020.

These are the prices for NYC and Delaware recently.

Five guys in Canada:

Mind you I’d never get a soda or fries with the burger, but if you did a traditional burger fries and drink:

So almost $20.00 CAD. Which is expensive for us. If you paid with USD that would be about $15.87

But in Canada, it costs a lot more because it never gets above freezing and they always have to transport through snow.

True, but a regular size of anything at Five Guys is more than twice what you'll get in Connections. I get a regular size fry for my whole family. I'm over 200 lbs currently and I only get the little bacon cheeseburger.
