Conflicting info on DL Character Meals

I know that Ariel's, Goofy's, and Minnie's are all flat rate.

On some sites I'm seeing that at the Storyteller and PCH breakfasts they have the buffet price and also have a menu you can order off of and pay for only what your order.

But other sites say that is not the case that the venues offer only the flat rates like WDW does for all their character meals.

Just wondering if this is a policy that has changed or if some of these sites are wrong? We would love to hit 3/4 character meals on our trip, but at $70 each for 2/3 breakfasts those rack up pretty quickly.

This is no help, because we have only done Ariel and Goofy. I would like to say though that if you have to only choose a couple - these two are great.

I know what you mean about the expense of the DL character meals, it's especially sad since they don't have the dining plan to make it a bit more affordable.

I don't know about which site is right for the character meals. I just know that we are going to try all of them in December, but that won't help you much will it? I'll look forward to seeing what you find out.

Yeah, I remember $27 for breakfast at Goofy's a few years back. Now they offer more than just the one meal. Has it been that long -- yesh.

I have been to Ariels Grotto, Story Tellers cafe, and Breakfast with minnie .

Story Tellers can be a buffet or you can just buy of the menu, I suggest the buffet, there are tons of desserts!
Ariels and minnie are flat rates, and if you book later like at 11:30 you can eat a brunch and get much more than its worth! Ariels has a menu and you get to pick a dinner and a dessert and an entree.

We did the PCH one 2 years ago and they had a menu and buffet then if I remember correctly.

For 5 of us it was $70 or so for bfast and that seems a tad excessive for some eggs and pancakes... but it was fun!!!
