The dates for this year's Holiday events are now confirmed for this year. See http://www.wdwmagic.com/xmas.htm

All the dates have been reduced since last year, which I think is actually a good move. Everything outside of the MK now pretty much begins on November 28 (compared to Nov 13 for the Osborne Lights last year), and ends on January 4 (down from January 7).

This sucks for those of us that work in retail, as almost every retail company has a vacation blackout during the end of Nov, until the beginning of January. So I guess I'll never have another chance to see xmas events unless I quit my job.

well the 28th will be very busy for my family. We will have to go to dak for the jamming jungle parade then go to dhs for the Osborne lights and ressie at 50's Prime time cafe

Sounds like Disney is trying to cut back on operation costs. Too bad for those who go the week before Thanksgiving to take advantage of low crowds and Holiday events.

Wonder why the Castle Dreamlights were not part of the press release? Have we even confirmed that they will indeed return?

But I see WDW is not missing out on hard-ticketed event revenue as MVMCP starts Nov 10 . I guess it's no worse that the Halloween party starting right after labor day .

Thanks for the update, Steve. I'm not shooting the messenger - just venting a bit.

I am actually happy that they are cutting down the holiday events, it has been getting out of control over the past few years!

I would bet by next year we will see the hard-ticket parties take over all year round......:brick:

Thanks for keeping us informed! :) Do you know what time of year they usually announce the Christmas Day Parade taping schedule? I want to attend it this year.

We didn't find out about the Christmas Parade taping activities until Nov 1, I believe. It has usually been one full week after Thanksgiving, but this year Thanksgiving is late, so wondering myself what will happen with the taping date. Have had no luck in finding out. We even stopped by MK Guest Relations in April, and no answers there.

That's me. I'm a teacher, so the time I can go during the holiday season is limited. I am taking off the last 2 days before Thanksgiving break for our 5 night/6 day trip. I am happy that we'll be able to attend MVMCP, but upset about missing out on the events at Epcot and MGM. (Oops, DHS :p)

I agree, Christmas festivities should begin after Thanksgiving, not before. The same should hold true for the early Halloween parties, which begin on 9/5 this year. But of course, that brings in extra revenue.:brick::brick:Noting says Halloween like celebrating on 9/5.

The price of the hard ticket events have also gotten out of hand, but that is a whole other issue.
