Concourse Steakhouse

What's the plan for this location. It closes for good in early May.
It will become the permanent location of the "Tempo & Go" counter service restaurant which is currently across from the steakhouse. The primary focus will be on "to go" items.

I think it sticks that they won't have a decent food court. I envision alot of "plastic container" shelved items at this place.

5 May 2007: Contemporary Resort changes and new table service restaurant
Beside the demolition of the North Wing, the Contemporary has been undergoing some other changes to merchandise and dining locations.
The Fantasia merchandise location has been temporarily moved into the concourse area of the 4th Floor while it's regular location is being refurbished. The new Fantasia shop will open in mid-August, 2007.

A temporary quick service restaurant location will open near the Outer Rim lounge on the 4th Floor on July 30, 2007, and will operate through August 14, 2008. The Food and Fun Center will be closed during this timeframe as the location is being converted into a new table service restaurant called The Wave which will open around April 2008. Concourse Steakhouse will close at that time to make way for a new, permanent quick service restaurant which will open in mid-August, 2008.

New landscaping and traffic flow will be phased in from July 2007 through to October 2007.
A new look will be phased into the lobby from June 11 through mid-November 2007.

Maybe it will be like the other WDW hotel quick grab and go areas. A small "hot menu" with lots of grab and go items too.

I would imagine that the new counter-service location will be the same quality as the overhauled Captain Cook's at the Polynesian.

I am gonna miss this place so much, we found out how good it was after we missed our reservations at le cellier. Aside from the annoyances of chef mickey's I considered it one of my favorites.

You should try the Yachtsman's Steakhouse at the Yacht Club, I've heard it's even better than the Concourse Steakhouse and Le Cellier.

This doesn't all quite add up. It sounds like the quick service food and gift shop have moved locations, which will somehow necessitate a need to get rid of a table service restaurant? You start with three locations, end with two? None of these got larger (right? Unless the CS does), so what happened?

If I'm reading it right, they're not losing a TS restaurant. They'll be opening The Wave in the old Food and Fun Center location before they close the Concourse Steakhouse.

Correct... at least that's the plan. No idea how well they are sticking to that schedule.

My only objection is that I won't be able to sit down and eat and watch the monorails roll by overhead. oh well

Hmmm...I'm not sure that is an improvment then. I love the new decor at CC but not the food so much. Bring back the toppings bar, darn it!

I'm really bummed they are closing, I first ate there on our Honeymoon and the food was great and the ambience is unbeatable, now the only way you'll be able to experience eating with the monorail floating overhead is to fight the crowds and the nosie at Chef Mickey's and let's face it, you're not going there to expereince a nice quite relaxing meal. It's really too bad. They should at least replace it with another sit down restaurant not some slop stand with pre-packaged garbage.
