Computer question

For some reason I am unable to play any yahoo games. I'll click on the game and it tries to load but ends of saying serval Java vitrual machines running at the same time casued a error. So anybody know how to fix it.

java is used to play online games among other things so you may need it.

i would start with uninstalling your version of java, restart your pc, go back to add/remove programs and make sure you don't have any other versions still installed and then download the latest version and install it.

that could be step one in trouble shooting.

i might also try playing the games after you uninstall and before reinstalling just to see if you need java. if you do continue with the step above.

i have found at times java can interfere with other programs but it widely used

well I have tried all that and i still get the same message

Make sure Sun Java Console is Enabled.

What web browser do you use? Which operating system (windows, etc.) do you use? How old is your computer?

IE7 windows XP about 3 years old

open the task manager (opposite click to the L of the clock), click the processes tab, end all the javaw.exe tasks, try again to play

hey I did that but dont see anything thats says java

Wow, I never knew you could get to the task manager that way.

:shrug: Google? On a side note, I haven't had any problems w/ Java using the Firefox browser. Then again, I am on a <1-year-old laptop.
