In the start menu (assuming that you're using the new version and not classic start menu), click "Set Program Access and Defaults." Click the radio button next to "Custom" if it's not already clicked. Click the down arrow on the right side next to "Custom." Change your settings and save them.

Thanks Bagheera,

I was wondering how to do that... though.. you might have to go to "Windows Update" and download this update:

820291: Recommended Update (Windows XP)
Download size: 1.0 MB, < 1 minute
This update adds a new icon for the “Set Program Access and Defaults” feature to the second column of the Start menu. It also adds a “Help” button and help content. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

That is what I am doing right now :)

Glad to help, Jer.

I always keep my system patched up to date with all patches, so I didn't realize that the "Set Program Access and Defaults" was actually an update. Good thing to know for the future!
