guess he meant a hard drive crash .. and had no backup :brick:

well .. hands down disney-central is the best place to get ride videos (no matter if paid or non paid sites)

you could have prevented that with little or no hassle:

1. reverted to the last system restore point (before windows boot screen press f8)
2. use the windows cd to resotre windows files (choose repair in the setup dialog)
3. buy a second HDD, install windows on it and copy the important stuff from the messed up drive

oh well .. now you know

well there is always email dreamflight911@aol.com

Yep, your best bet was buying another hard drive and transferring the files.

CD-bootable linux installations are a wonderful thing :)

When windows won't start, you can still access your HD and copy files across the network to another source, or perhaps even burn them to a CD/DVD.

But that should be discussed in a different section and on a different forum. :)

Even formatting your drive doesn't necessarily mean all is lost, there may be still be some chance of recovering some stuff. Trying google for 'file recovery software', I have recovered many files from knackered and even formatted drives using some decent software.

Yes...I use PC Inspector file recovery and it works pretty good. The best part about it is that it's FREE.

There may be better programs out there but this one works for me. Here's the link...
