Trip Report **COMPLETED** The Tail of Slinky Dog

Hey everyone!
We have been back for a week now so I suppose it is time to start our TR!

Who
Just my Mom and I (Mary and Megan)
This is a picture from our last trip!

When?
July 9-July 16 2018

Why?
To celebrate my 30th Birthday

Where?
The Grand Floridian - thanks to a pretty good bounce back or AP deal (I can't actually remember which one )

The title?
We are obsessed with Slinky Dog Dash - plain and simple

Day 1 July 9, 2018
I had to work most of my usual day before we headed to the airport. Why is this day of work always the LONGEST day of work?
My Dad was actually out of town for work so he couldn't drive us to the airport, but my brother in law Nick kindly offered to drive us (thankfully)
I was super stressed about leaving on time (I thought our flight was earlier than it was ) hence my flushed cheeks

Oh hey Nick

Of course we made it to the airport, checked our bags and made it through security in little to no time
We decided to eat dinner at our usual airport dinner place - Anchor Bar

We shared the appetizer sampler and some fries. Wings, boneless wings, mozzarella sticks I realize now this isn't the best of pictures to actually show the food

After our delicious dinner we headed to the gate to wait to leave.
Petey was ready to go

Soon enough we were on the plane!

Next up: finishing Day 1 (quick day!)

My niece was a Galactic Hero in June & the CM looked at me like I was crazy for asking for the sticker for her. I feel your pain!!

What a great birthday! Your Ariel at CRT was our Ariel at Trattoria al Forno last February . Also love the FP for Belle! It’s a great attraction although definitely not necessary every time and I can’t imagine having to play that Belle and doing that same routine every 20 minutes all day I’m still amazed at all the new and different-than-normal things you guys have accomplished this trip

I'm glad you had such a fantastic birthday! I hope to talk my husband into going back to try CRT for dinner. We went for lunch a few years ago and were disappointed and unfortunately that experience turned him off of ever trying their dinner

And, this is a random comment, but I've never seen a fantastic Princess Aurora. I don't know if it's the costume, the makeup, wig, etc but they never look right as the character. I've seen some great Belles and Snow Whites - but never an Aurora lol.

Congratulations on your birthday on the 13th! My husband and I got married on July 13th, and are celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary this year. Must be a fantastic, lucky day for a birthday Love your report!

....told you it was going to take me forever - sorry! I moved this weekend and wasn't planning on it so it all happened a bit fast I still don't have internet so short posts probably until I get mine installed!

Day 6 July 14, 2014
We planned on "sleeping in" a little so naturally we got up at 7 am We got ready, had some breakfast and headed to the bus stop. We just missed a bus to HS but another one came just a few minutes later!

Of course our first stop was Toy Story Land. Funny side story - before they announced the opening date of Toy Story Land my Mom and I would go around chanting "Toy Story Land - Toy Story Land" out of excitement and wishful thinking that it would be open for our trip

Even the bathrooms are adorable!

Slinky Dog Dash was listed as a 55 minute wait. When we looked at the line, however, it was the same length as it was when we rope dropped so we decided to take our chances and hop in standby !

Next up: more TSL!

Day 6 continued

All in all we only waited 20 minutes! Hooray!

Then we used our Fast Pass and went on again!

Had it not been a truly long wait when we got off we probably would have done it a third time
Next we decided to take our chances with TSM. It was listed as 30 minutes and it was indeed 30 but it was air conditioned so we didn't mind

Next up: more TSL

Day 6 continued
It was good to see Mr. Potato Head back in action!

We tried out the new Play Disney app in this line. The games were pretty fun!

My Mom is so much more accurate than me

We wandered over to Alien Swirling Saucers after this but only one side was open so the line was super long. So...instead we headed over to Tower of Terror for our next FP

Aw really? A lot of people do not have good experiences there I feel - but we have never had a bad one (despite the long wait to be seated). I agree -- I looked back at some of my photos and I could not find any good Auroras!

I have that dress too and also found it an Nordstrom Rack! I loved it in the store but when I wore it for the first time, if felt SO short with the cutouts in the last several inches of the dress and I'm only 5' 4"! I'm scared to wear it again!
