Trip Report *COMPLETED* The More the Merrier - November/December 2020

Hello friends!

We have been back from our most recent trip to WDW for over two months, but I have just wrapped up my September trip report, so I am a little delayed in starting this one. Nevertheless, I am excited to share this trip report with you, and hope you all enjoy following along! Let's get down to the nitty gritty!

When: Sunday, November 29th - Saturday, December 5th. Six nights! That's a long one for us.

Where: The Cabins at Fort Wilderness! If you read my trip report from September 2019, you may recall that we absolutely fell in love with Ft. Wilderness when we stayed there, and we were itching to go back! When I found a great deal on the cabins for our favorite week to go during the holidays, it was a no brainer!

Who: By this point, many of you already know me (Katie), and my husband Jason:

We also had another passenger along for the trip, which brings me to the reason for the title:

We are expecting! I am due with a baby boy in June! Due date right now is the 10th, but he's measuring a little big, so I'm hoping they'll move that up, because I'm not trying to give birth to a 10-pounder! . Some of you know that we struggled with infertility for a few years, so we are over the moon to finally be welcoming our firstborn. I was around 12/13 weeks pregnant while we were on this trip, so an alternate title for the TR could be "The One with All the HoRmOnEs."

And because I have made you wait so long for this TR, here's a bonus pic of Little Man. He does have a name, but we won't be sharing it until after he's born. And I'm not 100% decided on whether I want to share it on this platform...we'll see.

Doing Disney while pregnant was a totally different experience, and I hope that this trip report can shed some light on what that is like, in case any of you are planning future pregnancies, or traveling with a pregnant woman in the future.

Wednesday, December 2nd - Epcot Day - Continued

The next stop on our world tour was France. Jason didn't want anything from the festival booth, and I didn't want to get something we couldn't share, so we skipped over that booth. We were too early for Impressions de France, and neither of us was interested in the "Beauty and the Beast" sing-along, so we took some photos, found the Olaf for our scavenger hunt, and went on our way.

While we were on the bridge between the France and UK pavilions, we spotted Molly from All Ears! We love their YouTube channel, especially her videos. I'm always impressed by how she looks so glamorous in the parks.

In the UK pavilion, we were disappointed to see that some of the shops in the pavilion had not yet reopened, including The Toy Soldier. We are doing a Winnie the Pooh theme in our son's playroom, so we were hoping to find something cute for the playroom in that shop. Defeated, we found the Olaf for our scavenger hunt, took some pics, and kept going to the next stop.

Wednesday, December 2nd - Epcot Day - Continued

After UK, our next destination was the World Showplace building. I love how they have started utilizing this building for some of the festival booths - I hope they continue to do so in the coming years!

World Showcase Lagoon pic along the way...I'm going to miss this view!

While in the World Showplace, we stopped by the Holiday Hearth booth, where we got practically one of everything on the menu:
- Red Velvet Mini Bundt Cake with Cream Cheese Icing – $4.00
- Salted Caramel Spaceship Earth® Cookie – $5.25
- Peppermint Bark – $6.25
- Gingerbread Milkshake with Whipped Cream Vodka – $11.00
- Cocoa Candy Cane: Hot Cocoa with Peppermint Schnapps – $11.00

Both adult beverages were obviously for Jason. We ate the bundt cake and the cookie, and saved the peppermint bark for later. We both loved the bundt cake - the cake itself was perfectly moist, and the icing was delightful. The Spaceship Earth cookie was definitely more of an Instagram item...it wasn't bad, it was just a little drier than we would have preferred. Jason enjoyed both of his adult beverages, and we spent a few minutes relaxing and enjoying being off our feet.

Before heading out of the pavilion, we had to take a look at the gingerbread replicas of some of the buildings in Washington D.C. This display is normally inside the American Adventure pavilion, but they moved it into the World Showplace for 2020 to make it easier for people to spread out while they admire it. I'm glad they decided to keep it around for the festival!

By the time we made it out of the World Showplace, it was already dark outside. Our favorite shop in the Canada pavilion was closed, so we found the last Olaf for our scavenger hunt, and headed out of the World Showcase. One last unobstructed World Showcase Lagoon pic...

We stopped into one of the gift shops to turn in our completed scavenger hunt map, and claim our prize - an Olaf cup.

We stopped for a couple minutes to admire the Christmas tree before heading back over to Future World. I love the Epcot tree lit up at night!

Wednesday, December 2nd - Epcot Day - Continued

We ventured back into Future World a little after 6:00 pm, with the intention of riding Living with the Land for the second time, and Spaceship Earth for the first time that day.

I'm ready for these dang walls to be down!

Hello, beautiful - I love the colors they project on SSE at night!

Up first was Living with the Land, which was posted at a 10-minute wait. That turned out to be pretty accurate. We were, however, a little confused when they loaded a group of people into the row directly in front of us, when they had been loading every other row earlier that day. Maybe the group in front of us misheard the CM? Maybe the CM forgot which row he put us in? Who knows. Either way, it was worth the trip back to the Land pavilion to see Living with the Land lit up at night!

Last on the agenda was Spaceship Earth, which had been down earlier in the day. The wait was posted at 15 minutes, but we waited more like 10 minutes. We had to wave hello to John and Patricia...

Evidently, in the future, Jason will only have half a face. And we'll both wear sweater vests?

After SSE, we decided to head out of Epcot. It was around 7:30 at that point, and I was beat. We caught the bus back to Ft. Wilderness - side note - one positive of the bus transportation during COVID times is that Wilderness Lodge and Ft. Wilderness are no longer sharing buses at Epcot. On our September 2019 trip, we ended up on a verrryyyy crowded bus back to Ft. Wilderness at the end of our Epcot day, and it was an absolute cluster trying to get the Wilderness Lodge people off the bus while the Ft. Wilderness people stayed on.

Anywho, we ended up back at Ft. Wilderness around 8:00, and we were both hungry for a substantial meal at that point. We mobile-ordered some chicken nugs from P&J's, went to pick them up, and brought them back to the cabin to chow down.

I also got a strawberry shortcake, which I enjoyed later that night while we were watching "The Santa Clause 3."

For only having spent 8 hours in the park, it was a pretty exhausting day.

We now interrupt this trip report for a very important announcement...we got our maternity photos back!

Baby boy should be here in about six weeks, maybe a little less. The nursery is almost done (pics to come), we’ve started packing the hospital bags, and we are counting down the days until his arrival! For now, I guess I had better hurry up and finish this report!

She did not finish her trip report…in fact, she neglected it for almost two months.

Work got really crazy before I went on maternity leave, and then life got a little crazy too…

Introducing the newest Mouseketeer! Our little Lincoln was born on June 5th, weighing in at 8 lbs 14 oz, and 20 3/4 inches long.

Now that Daddy is back at work and he and I have somewhat of a routine going, maybe I’ll finally have time to finish this report during his nap times!
