Trip Report * Completed* An Anniversary/Birthday Trip to Remember, December 2024

We're back!! And there were many memorable things about our trip, some fantastic and some not so great things, but overall a wonderful trip!

Quick overview:
Who: me (Amy) and my husband, Brian
Why: we were celebrating our 25th anniversary and 50th birthdays, just 1 year late!
Where: Caribbean Beach Resort, Jamaica building 42
When: December 6-11, 2024

We had a later flight out of Columbus, so left our house about 3pm and made it in plenty of time for Brian to nap before we had to board!

We were scheduled to depart at 5:45, so got to see the sunset from the ground and the air.

I was unlucky enough to have a young child behind me that kicked my chair the entire 2 hour flight until about 10 minutes before we started our descent. We asked nicely and the flight attendant asked nicely and the mom continued to sleep with her earbuds in, so in addition to the kicking, we got to constantly hear "mom, mom"! Longest two hour flight ever!

I was worried about having to check a bag, but it made it MCO with us and in good condition, so that was a relief! Our driver met us and we were soon on our way and seeing these:

We got our room ready text while on the way. We were booked into a water/pool view 5th sleeper since that was all that available using the Bounceback offer for our dates. I had requested Jamaica and that our water view be of Barefoot Bay and not a pool. I also requested to be near the Skyliner. Yay, all of my requests were granted!!

It was finally time to leave. We sat on a bench outside for just a few minutes waiting on our ride to arrive. It started to rain a little while we were out there.

It poured while we were on the way to the airport! Luckily, it slowed down by the time we got there and we were able to do curbside check in for our suitcase and not get wet.

A few pics of the decorations at MCO:

We got to see the sunset while in the air.

And were greeted with red and green lights on the control tower at Columbus.

Our flight home was uneventful once we finally boarded. It kept getting delayed and we had 2 different gate changes before leaving MCO. The drive home was also uneventful.

I took the next day off of work so I could unpack and do laundry. I had lots of help!

Thanks for following along! Not sure when we'll be back, but hopefully sooner rather than later! I know it's not the same, but I will get to go to a flower festival this year. Owen decided he wanted to go back to Dollywood this year and the only week we have free is the first week of June, which happens to be the last week of their Flower and Food Festival.

Hmm. Those can’t be real cats because they are sitting next to, rather than on, the laundry 😉

Many thanks for your TR - your pictures are always focusing on amazing details, making it such fun to look at.
HaHa! Maybe they just missed me so much that they were behaving that day! They would typically have been rolling in the laundry!

You're welcome! And thank you for following along!

Yes! Thank you for all of the wonderful photos! I have tried and tried - but I will never be a trip reporter. I never remember to take photos!
Loved following along on this trip. Thanks again.
