Trip Report COMPLETED - After 2 1/2 years we finally made it back to WDW

So as the title suggests we finally got back to WDW.
It was every bit as magical as I expected and was much needed after years away due to Covid.
We had such a great time. I’m not going to lie it was a different experience which I’ll explain more of but this holiday was so needed.
I’ve thought long and hard about a TR as the honest truth is I kept no notes as I just wanted to live in the moment but I’ll share with you some of it the best I can.

So let’s rewind slightly here. We already have a trip booked for Sept this year but in early November the US borders opened for us UK folk and myself and Chris watched live on u tube as the Virgin and British airways planes took off together and we both got a bit emotional. After take off we both looked at each other and the words came out of my mouth “I don’t think I can wait till Sept , if Covid has taught us anything it’s to do what you want. Can we book another trip for March?” Without hesitation Chris said yes - he is a keeper! And so the planning started. I checked out various bits of data and found the lowest weeks in terms of spring break crowds, I prepared myself for a busy trip knowing full well that there is a lot of pent up demand and just considered myself lucky to finally be able to plan a trip.

We decided to plan 10 days from 26th Feb. Disney was so expensive that we decided as this was an additional trip we would book elsewhere and settled on Sheraton Vistana Resort as it was close to Disney with no resort fees or parking costs. Our trip was still just over £4000 but money well spent in my books (and as we’ve been stuck at home for 2 1/2 years we’ve hardly spent anything!)

I’ll get into more of the detail over the next few days and I’ll try to get some pictures posted rather than it being text heavy but for now I’m back………. Hello again Disney friends

Hopefully I will be able to finish my report over this Bank Holiday weekend.

Have a good time everyone.
Happy Easter!!! I recognize the chocolate bar in the ice cream from my visit to my cousin's house in Scotland. We used to have the ice cream truck come around her neighborhood and they put them in the cones. They used to sell them in the Great Britian tea shop!

Hope it was a good one.

Happy Easter … and I did have ice cream this afternoon in your honor 😉

It’s a holiday after all!
Happy Easter too! Horror, didn't get to have ice cream today but an ice pop instead 😒. Will be making up for it at a later date.

Ice pops are still good.
Have a great Easter! We are going to our daughters Saturday to celebrate. If I ate ice cream now I would freeze! It's 19 degrees out with snow. When will it ever end??????

So sorry it’s so cold - I’ll send some sun your way.

We call them 99’s - maybe they usd to be 99p - they are now over £2 each - still cheaper than Disney.

I am EXACTLY the same! I did not ride ToT for years because of my fear of heights. Once I tried it I loved it and have to ride it every trip!

Happy Easter Tracey!

Not sure I’ll be back on tot -;we’ll see
A very Happy Easter to you and the family. Ice cream is a great way to celebrate!

I think you need some Easter bunny cake, to go along with your ice cream. :)

Monday 7th March

It was our last full day in the parks and I was up early and was ready.

Our aim was to be at MK by 8am! I had told Chris the park opened at 8 just to try to get him there early!
We made it for 8am and when I wasn’t rushing down Main Street he asked why. When i told him the park opened at 9 he just gave a wry smile. I love he is so forgiving and accepting of my love for Disney. I do keep saying to him though that if I didn’t love Disney this much I would probably be a really grumpy miserable moaning wife so maybe that’s why he just goes along with it. Deep down he does love it too. He is always the one who wants to book something - I’ve turned him into a Disney freak.

What getting there early allowed us to do was give us time to get that mini tripod out again and be silly!

There was a man nearby chuckling at us both but I think he was enjoying us being silly and probably deep down wondering why he didn’t have a tripod too.

I think he worked out I was glad to be home!

Photo shoot over the parks were opening and we were headed to see those spooky ghosts one last time.

I always like to watch the portrait age but Chris always wants to get in the room first to get to the right door to get put to the doom buggies first.
I managed to get a quick picture before we headed in.

Next BTMRR - just for info this shirt was the other I bought at the Disney outlet I think this one was $25 reduced from $35?

We laughed our way round that ride and literally soaked up our last ride his trip. We didn’t ask for the back row as we were only 3 from the back anyway but it was still a fun ride. One day I swear we’ll hit our head on the wooden beam - I’m sure you all know the one I mean where you leave your seat. Such a fun last experience on BTMRR for this trip. I had something in my eye as I exited (more tears) and as we left that station I looked longingly back photographing everything in my brain as core memories.

We then decided to enjoy the hub grass to take everything in - I just wanted time to take some mental pictures in my head to capture everything around me

We also captured a couple of pictures

It’s just so nice to be sat in the sun in my favourite place. Even though this would be the last time this trip I was just so happy to be home.

I don’t think we did any further rides we were just walking the park taking everything in

There was literally no one there when we stopped to take this picture but by the time we had taken this (which was literally less than a minute). There was a queue.

Funny how everyone just walks by but when someone stops everyone wants a go!

What happened to the purple wall? There was only a very small amount and at the end we found stitch.
I tried to stick my tongue out like him

Then we headed down Main Street to do some shopping

Then into the confectionary. I think these were something like $25! Wow
I was tempted for all of 1 minute.

It was late afternoon when we left and rather fittingly the characters were there to wave us goodbye. I was quite choked at this point and may have been a bit emotional.

They were getting ready to leave too so we headed to the bottom of the stairs to wave them goodbye

Our time at the Magic Kingdom had come to an end and the sunglasses were on and the bottom lip was quivering - MK had been extra special this trip.

I had watched the park close down on that final day live on u tube and it had just pulled at my heart strings ever since.

We had had a blast and made new memories and had loved it.

We hopped on the monorail back to the TTC to get the car

Then we headed to McDonalds by AK
We were hungry as we hadn’t eaten so this was lunch and dinner!
I love the trays in USA they were like little tables with holes for the drinks. We need those in the UK that would stop all the spilled drinks!

CEE2171D-39D5-46EA-B3C8-DA0859C9E75C.jpeg

We then decided that as the forecasted rain hadn’t arrived we would head to AK .

We managed to fit in a safari and FOP - sorry no photos. The sky was looking darker so we decided to head back to pack farther than chance staying out any longer.

As we were leaving and walking across the car park back to the car it started to rain slowly, we started to run to the car as it got heavier

We got in the car at 6.20pm as the heavens opened!
We had managed to escape the rain all day but it was really raining now - obviously sad that we were headed home tomorrow!

We were back in our room shortly after 6.30pm and spent the time packing, listening to the rain and generally sorting ourselves out before an early night as we had a long day tomorrow.
