Trip Report **COMPLETED** A Boardwalk Babymoon

Hey guys! I have been back for awhile and to be honest I was not planning on writing a Trip Report because I have a lot going on right now. However, I was looking through all my pictures the other day feeling a little sad about not writing one. So...here we are! To be honest this was a long trip so this is probably going to take me forever to write (especially since I have a few trips coming up)

Ok...let's get down to it !

Who?
My Mom (Mary), my sister Jill and myself (Megan)
This is from our last trip together in Feb 2020

When?
May 20-30, 2021

Where?
Boardwalk Villas - staying on DVC points!

Why?
Jill and her husband Nick adopted a baby! If she is ok with it I will post a photo at some point of him. Funny enough we planned this trip before they got matched with a baby! They have been going through the adoption process for over a year and we thought it would give her a boost if we gifted her this trip! Literally like 2 weeks after we officially added her to the trip she got the call! It was perfect timing!! The baby was born just last week Also side note my Mom and I were supposed to be in Disneyland/on an Adventures by Disney tour this trip which is why it was so long

Day 1 - May 20, 2021
My Mom stayed at my house so we could drive ourselves to the airport instead of waking my Dad up super early on a Thursday.
We got up at 3:30 am, got ready and headed out the door!
We made it to the airport and found the best parking spot! I was so happy ! It was our first time driving ourselves to the airport
I avoided an overweight suitcase thanks to a home scale so.....phew!
Took some photos when we got there!

Oh I should mention that Jill came a few days later!
We were starving so we tried to rope drop our usual breakfast place...

But...it was supposed to open at 5 and it did not so we ended up eating cookies and licorice

I love a good cast member photo bomb! We had a delightful set of servers at Whispering Canyon once who stole my mom's phone without her noticing. Found this gem when we got home!

I love this!!! I love when the Cast Members are playful!!

Love the purple theme and that purple lemonade looks so refreshing!!! I love the food booths at the F&G Festival in Epcot! I tend to talk to anyone at WDW (although I do that normally) but it's so fun to talk with other Disney fans about their experiences when at the parks! Your breakfast pics from Ale and Compass makes me want to book a reservation for there for our upcoming October trip!

I agree I love talking to people about Disney!! We have had great breakfasts at Ale and Compass recently !

Day 4 May 23, 2021
We got up around 6 am and got ready. We saw some hot air balloons flying over DHS! So cool!

I was dressed like my penguin Petey

We were on our way to AK (if you could not guess). We ordered a Lyft..but then that got stuck in traffic. So then we ordered an Uber ....which also got stuck. So...in the end we took the bus!

We ended up getting there around 7:30 am.

We headed right to Pandora..

We hopped in the Flight of Passage line that was already in Africa (practically) and was listed at 45 minutes.

In the end we waited about 40 minutes which isn't bad!

After this we headed over to Everest!

It was a very quick 15 minute wait!

After this we headed over to Dinoland to meet up with @sheriffwoody , R and LP!

We all went on Triceratop Spin first!

After this we said our goodbyes to our friends and headed to Dinosaur. This was Jill's one request for AK!

So many garbage/recycling options...

We decided to eat some (very early) lunch at Restaurantosaurus
My sister and I got burgers and my Mom got chicken nuggets (we were happy to see the nuggets instead of the tenders!).

And a "Mother's Day cupcake" - I think it was chocolate.

After our delicious lunch we debated leaving the park but ended up hopping in line for the Safari. This worked out because our second AK day did not go as planned later in the trip.

In the end we waited about 40 minutes so not bad! I was still trying to figure out my camera so my safari photos are not that great...

We took some photos before heading out

My Mom got some new sunnies (this was her trying them on).

Back on the Boardwalk we stopped at the Boardwalk Ice Cream shop. Well actually I did not ...my Mom and Jill did
I took selfies while I waited for them as per usual.

This ice cream shop replaced Ample Hills. My Mom and Jill said everyone was super nice inside. The only odd thing was the hours. I swear it was just randomly opened and closed with no rhyme or reason.
Anyway my Mom had Butter Pecan and Jill had a sundae.

After the ice cream break we headed down to the pool
Time for some random and poor quality waterproof camera photos

We did get some drinks from Leaping Horse Libations. Jill and I got a Bourbon Breeze (Jim Beam Black Extra-aged Bourbon with Cranberry, Lime and Pomegranate Juices topped with Fever Tree Ginger Beer) and my Mom had a Blueberry Lemonade (Three Olives Blueberry Vodka, Blue Curaçao and Minute Maid® Premium Lemonade topped with Sprite® and Pomegranate Juice).

Then after our pool time we headed upstairs and got ready/dressed for dinner.

Our dinner was at California Grill so we took an Uber over to The Contemporary.

We played some corn hole while we waited for our reservation.

40 minutes for FOP seems like a dream!

After this we said our goodbyes to our friends and headed to Dinosaur. This was Jill's one request for AK

Jill and I would get along well since Dinosaur is one of my all-time favorites that I want to ride again and again and again! Of course, I feel that way about Everest and FOP, too but Dinosaur is special in a vintage-type way, I think.

So many garbage/recycling options...

AT LEAST they were making sure these were emptied/tidied!

Love the trip report so far, I didn't want to bombard you with like notices but all the pictures are great. It looks like you three had so much fun together. Congrats on the new addition to your family, Ezra looks like a cutie!

We are making a set of cornhole boards and are doing Bills/Sabres...now I kind of want to make another set and theme them after Disney Resorts.
