Trip Report **COMPLETED** A Boardwalk Babymoon

Hey guys! I have been back for awhile and to be honest I was not planning on writing a Trip Report because I have a lot going on right now. However, I was looking through all my pictures the other day feeling a little sad about not writing one. So...here we are! To be honest this was a long trip so this is probably going to take me forever to write (especially since I have a few trips coming up)

Ok...let's get down to it !

Who?
My Mom (Mary), my sister Jill and myself (Megan)
This is from our last trip together in Feb 2020

When?
May 20-30, 2021

Where?
Boardwalk Villas - staying on DVC points!

Why?
Jill and her husband Nick adopted a baby! If she is ok with it I will post a photo at some point of him. Funny enough we planned this trip before they got matched with a baby! They have been going through the adoption process for over a year and we thought it would give her a boost if we gifted her this trip! Literally like 2 weeks after we officially added her to the trip she got the call! It was perfect timing!! The baby was born just last week Also side note my Mom and I were supposed to be in Disneyland/on an Adventures by Disney tour this trip which is why it was so long

Day 1 - May 20, 2021
My Mom stayed at my house so we could drive ourselves to the airport instead of waking my Dad up super early on a Thursday.
We got up at 3:30 am, got ready and headed out the door!
We made it to the airport and found the best parking spot! I was so happy ! It was our first time driving ourselves to the airport
I avoided an overweight suitcase thanks to a home scale so.....phew!
Took some photos when we got there!

Oh I should mention that Jill came a few days later!
We were starving so we tried to rope drop our usual breakfast place...

But...it was supposed to open at 5 and it did not so we ended up eating cookies and licorice

Congrats to your sister and BIL! Ezra is adorable!

A babymoon without foot swelling and frequent potty breaks sounds pretty ideal!

Thank you! And I know we said she had the best Babymoon...she can drink alcohol and is comfortable

I've used those before...a really long time ago, and forgot how effective they may be....I spy a trip to Kohl's in my near future...Slinky Dog at night sounds pretty awesome!

I was so thrilled to see that you were writing another TR!!! Congratulations to your sister and BIL on the new baby. Ezra is absolutely precious. I know I've said this to you before but you and your mom are so adorable together. You outfits are so cute too! Glad you were able to get the quiet pool view at BWV as the balcony on that side is definitely more quiet in the afternoon than the main pool. I think I'm going to switch to that side on our next stay there! Your meals at Mama Melrose looked delicious. You certainly got a lot done so far on this trip!

Thank you so much ! I know in hindsight I am so happy we had that pool view - so much better than the main pool!

Day 3 May 22, 2021
We got up at like 6:30 am again (for no reason) so took our time getting ready. We had breakfast plans but still had quite a bit of time to kill so we walked around the Boardwalk twice.
Then we headed to the Yacht Club to check in for breakfast at Ale and Compass

We noticed that we were the only ones who got a paper menu instead of the QR code. My Mom said it was because she's old so she was pouting

Love these little teapots!

I forgot to take photo photos other than the condiments .....

I do have old food photos though don't worry. Thankfully we are creatures of habit
My Mom had the blueberry bacon pancakes.

And I had the American Breakfast

Everything was great!!
After this we walked back over to the Boardwalk to wait for Jill!

We hired a car for Jill too so soon enough she pulled up!

I went to the bathroom and came back to these gems. Somehow these fools got in my phone...

We headed over to Figment after this!

Only...it was closed. So...we decided to eat some Festival food instead.
We headed to the Honey Bee-stro
We got the Local Wildflower Honey-Mascarpone Cheesecake with Orange Blossom Honey Whipped Cream, Whipped Honey, Crystalized Honey, Honeycomb, Dehydrated Honey, and Fennel Pollen Meringue Kisses

The Lavender Honey Mustard-marinated Chicken Flatbread with Whipped Honey-Ricotta Cheese, Marinated Vegetables, and Purple Haze Lavender Goat Cheese

The Honey-Peach Freeze with Blueberry Vodka

And the Florida Orange Groves Winery Orange Blossom Honey Wine

For some reason I decided to bust out the silicone straws for the Honey Peach Freeze which left my Mom and sister in hysterics.

Anyway...everything was delicious!! I especially liked the Honey Peach Freeze!

Then we headed to the Pineapple Promenade.
We got the Mixed Berry Buttermilk Cake.

A Dole Whip

And my favorite festival treat - Violet Lemonade!
I took a ton of photos with it

I made friends with a little girl while enjoying my lemonade. Her Dad was on the phone trying to find people so I talked to her about her dolls and when her Dad hung up gave him some Disney tips! I am super introverted in real life but in Disney I can talk to anyone
I did not try the Dole Whip or the cake so I can not comment on those ...but I loved the Violet Lemonade obviously
After this we headed back towards Figment to see if it was open. It was not so we popped into the DVC lounge for a minute.

I got a bee crown when we were walking around and Jill was mad she did not get one

Next up we headed to Jill's favorite ride! Living with the Land!

Figment was finally back open (not sure why we were so obsessed with getting on this ride!) so we walked over there. We saw Pooh along the way!!! So cute!!

After this we headed out and headed to the quiet pool for a swim break!

We got a snack of Doritos, chips and pretzels. I only took a photo of the Doritos (as if you don't know what they look like?) but the cheese that came with Jill's pretzel was . I can not even describe why but it was delicious !

After our break we got ready and walked back to Epcot. Back on Easter we decided for some reason to have a "purple" day and all take Violet Lemonade photos so we are intentionally matching

Day 2 continued
The cake place from the Contemporary actually called me back while we were in line. It was SO loud though (thanks to a calvacade going by) so the girl had a hard time hearing me. At one point I kept saying no I mean THEEEEEE (like think old time English way of saying the). So then naturally I freaked out that what we were writing on the cake would say thee. I honestly could not let it go . I texted @sheriffwoody about this too

It would be a funny story someday! When I was in high school, I was on the speech and debate team and we had t-shirts made. The girl who ordered them told the company she wanted them to say "Talk Hard" on the back....it's something speech kids say to each other, like saying "break a leg" to a theater person, or "Play hard" to an athlete. The gal didn't understand and says "Top card?" And the girl says "No, 'talk hard' like... giving speeches." She even spelled it out for the gal. Then we go to pick up the shirts and they all say "Top card" on the back. So she had to send them back and make them reprint them, but from then on, we always told each other "Top card!" before our rounds. It became an inside joke.

Even the PP photographer was into it....

After our weird photo shoot we headed towards Mexico to check in for dinner!
Our table was ready early and much to our delight we were seated on the water!

The lighting is horrible in here so sorry all these photos are pretty bad Probably should have brought my camera.
We asked for a photo of us at the table and this CM photobombed us

We all ordered margaritas - My Mom and Jill ordered the classic (Mi Campo reposado tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, agave with a salt rim) and I ordered El Diablo (romba blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, agave, cucumber-jalapeño juice with hibiscus salt rim).

My Mom got carded! Like legitimately - she laughed and he was like no I am serious
For appetizers my Mom and I both got the Soap Azteca (Traditional Tortilla Soup served with Fried Corn Tortilla Strips, Avocado, Cheese, and Chile Pasilla)

Jill ordered the Queso Fundido (Melted Monterey Jack Cheese topped with Chorizo, Poblano Peppers and Onions served with Flour Tortillas) as an appetizer.

For entrees my Mom and I shared the Mole Poblano (Grilled chicken breast, topped with a mole sauce made with nuts and spices served with plantain rice and corn tortillas).

And Jill ordered the Enchiladas de Pollo (Corn Tortillas filled with Chipotle Chicken covered with Salsa Verde, Crema Mexicana, Cotija Cheese and Crispy Onion Straws atop Refried Beans served with Plantains topped with Crema Mexicana and Cotija Cheese).

YUMMMM!!! Everything was SO good!!!!
After our dinner we hopped in the Gran Fiesta Tour line. My photos of this are brutally bad...maybe it was the margarita

They are back - no more cardboard cutouts!

After this we headed back to the Boardwalk and early to bed since Jill got up so early to travel !

I love a good cast member photo bomb! We had a delightful set of servers at Whispering Canyon once who stole my mom's phone without her noticing. Found this gem when we got home!

Love the purple theme and that purple lemonade looks so refreshing!!! I love the food booths at the F&G Festival in Epcot! I tend to talk to anyone at WDW (although I do that normally) but it's so fun to talk with other Disney fans about their experiences when at the parks! Your breakfast pics from Ale and Compass makes me want to book a reservation for there for our upcoming October trip!

I just got caught up. You ordered my fave at Mama Melrose! I could eat that meal all the time! I am also a fan of the violet lemonade. I’ve only been lucky enough to have it once, but it is one of my favorite Disney treats! I have the same yellow top that your mom is wearing! I love it!
