Trip Report **COMPLETE** 'Tried the grey stuff it's delicious... don't believe us ask the dishes!!!

Welcome to our first trip report! I've loved reading through lots of fantastic trip reports on here, the pictures and stories got me very excited for my recent trip to Orlando so I figured it would be the perfect opportunity for me to write my very own. First a little background information, I’m Karen (25) from Dublin in Ireland and had my first trip to Orlando at the age of 9 and have since been hooked! I've been a grand total of 6 times including the most recent trip (not nearly enough!). Myself and my sister Rachel (20) read tonnes of trip reports, drooled over all over the Disney treats, researched the magic band system like crazy and planned the out the holiday in advance. Our trip involved 3 completely different types of accommodation, we stayed in a villa in Kissimmee for the first 6 days, Art of Animation at Disney World for 2 nights and finally the Quality Inn Suites on International Drive (at the junction of Sand Lake road).

A relative of ours had booked the house as part of a round the world trip so our accommodation there was free, he won’t feature much in our trip report but when he does we will refer to him as Grumpy. My boyfriend, who shall be known as Sleepy for the duration of our TR, also joined us on the trip for 10days.

Introducing the cast!

Me (left) and Rachel - both from Ireland

I’d made reservations in Sci-Fi Diner for about 2.45pm so myself, Rachel, Grumpy and Sleepy made our way over. This was a first for me! I was deciding between here and 50’s Prime Time so I think this year I’ll have to check out Prime Time. (See a trip report is much easier when you have another trip booked, no ‘wish I’d done that’ or ‘regret missing this’ just a long list of to-do’s lol

We were seated at one of the tables where you face each other as appose to the ones where you sit 2 in each row, they looked cooler :(

This is the only photo I got of the surroundings, pretty crap I know  At this point I only had my phone for pictures but **Spoiler Alert** I was about to acquire a pretty decent point and shoot that will provide some much better pics for the rest of our report!

After dinner we were all feeling a bit tired so what better time to go see the Muppets! I grabbed some fast passes for Star Wars for after (return time was really soon). We saw a bit of the pre-show and then we were inside. I love this show and have great memories of it but I agree with other posters that have suggested a different main character would be preferable!

We had a bit of a wander round and then went to use our fastpasses, simulators give me headaches sometimes but today was alright. Phew :inlove:

Right after Grumpy had just about enough of being out for the day so it was time to say goodbye to Hollywood Studios.

See ye real soon :D

The drive home today was pretty smooth, we chilled out back at the Villa for a while and then myself, Rachel and Sleepy decided to do some shopping! I drove us out to the Florida Mall, we stopped into Best Buy first and spotted this dude on the way in

IMG_0066.jpg

He was really giving it socks dancing around like a mad thing.

Inside Best Buy I made a purchase I'm very happy with! A Cannon IXUS digital camera, I hadn't owned a good camera in years and figured the start of the trip was the best time to get one! I must admit this was a complete impulse buy, we actually went in so Sleepy could purchase a Go-Pro camera but I got chatting to one of the sales assistances and she was so helpful. I kept the receipt safe in case I changed my mind but as you'll soon find out it got plenty of use! :p

We ventured into the mall afterwards but there wasn't much time left before the shops shut.

On the way home we kept our eyes peeled for Domino's, they do these amazing pasta bowls that you can't get in Ireland, unfortunately we didn't spot one and with me not yet comfortable with the roads just yet we didn't venture too far off course.

Back home and feeling sleepy we didn't stay up long...

Tomorrow Animal Kingdom....

Day 5 Animal Kingdom and DTD

So… ERM…. This is kinda awkward… You know that lovely new camera I bought? Well we were at the turnstyles nice and early but do you think I have a single shot of the outside of the park… Whooops

Originally I had booked an ADR for Tusker House Character Breakfast at 8AM which would've allowed us early entry, however that was before Snow White decided to join us, I was able to re-schedule for a later time of 10.45AM

I did however get a picture of this animal, there was a CM around who said that they’re not normally out and about and early morning is the only time to get a good shot. I of course completely forget what animal it is, anyone know?

Snow White had yet to arrive, we decided to swing by the Adventurers Outpost but Mickey and Minnie were not about just yet, the friendly CM let us know that they'd be there about 9.30ish.

On to Expedition Everest..

Check out my awesome editing skills

Snow White arrived just after we got off and we all got fastpasses to ride again later.

We stopped for some pics of the Monkeys on our way back to Adventure Outpost

Ahhh count me as another who dearly misses the old Duelling Dragons! It was my favorite roller coaster anywhere! I'm sad to hear they don't even run the trains together anymore =(

It's really sad... We used to have so much fun riding on opposite sides in the front row :( I think it's a bit boring now

Liking your TR. As someone who drives a manual I chuckled that you were nervous about driving an automatic over here. I'm yet to drive in Europe on my visits, but the thought of getting a manual is a big plus.

I assume it's much easier to go from a manual to an automatic than visa versa. I struggled so much more with the opposite side of the road thing, I'd only driven on the opposite side once in Spain. If you ever visit Ireland or the UK you'll get to try it out yourself lol

Loving your report! Makes me want to go back and drive this time. I am old enough now... :S :(

It really did bring so much freedom for us, it was very handy for trips to resorts or DTD as well as the outlets and Florida Mall. We're definitely going to rent a car again this trip...

Off to Dinoland next and here started a new fun 'idea' for Sleepy. He was going to try to replicate the pose of the Dinosaurs

And another...

I love this photo opportunity on the way into the Dinosaur ride but it's not very practical when people are looking to ride. We let a few people pass us out to get this beauty!

10166002053_415008ed50_b.jpg

And a solo shot for Mr Dinosaur.....

And of course....
