Coming soon to a Tram Near You...

$12??? Don't make me laugh. I've been in parking for 4 years and I'm all the way up to $7.85/hr. We don't do it for the money. We do it because we love Disney, and most of us try to provide a pleasant and safe guest experience.

while we're on the subject of parking -

last year friends and I stayed at an off-site hotel and took a cab to epcot. I was completely taken back when we still had to pay for parking. I mean right as you pay you go up a couple of feet and get dropped off. Why is it taxi's must pay parking? :veryconfu

If more then 1 tram ran at Epcot, people wouldn't be so upset that they missed the tram.

Since most of the time only the two closest lots are being used, maybe they should learn to walk. It takes the same amount of time, it's *god forbid* exercise, and it saves gas for WDW.

Or maybe we should all get our lazy butts segways.

Wouldn't that be a lovely conversation:

Disney Manager: "I'm sorry, Polyman, we don't pay you $7.85 an hour to go around telling people how much you love the Walt Disney Company."

Sure, that might be an actual policy. But please tell me it's not enforced on hourly workers.

Well...it matters the manager...and if they got the tip off.. they do remind in the backstage area to be careful posting company info... we are reminded if they hear that we are on these message boards...But not your right its not enforced daily...It was just a friendly reminder that I've know people to that have happened...its silly but it has happened. Sorry...just a little reminder thats all :( Maybe I should just not say anything...And he/she probably already knows it if they have been with the company that long...so my post was pointless...sorry

just curious...

you seem, by your humongous amount of post, pics, comments, etc to spend, well, it seems like you spend almost every waking moment at epcot, if not some other wdw park. id think someone like you would have an annual pass. assuming (yes, i know) you do have one, and not a seasonal, dont they come with free parking?

dont blame the cm's in the lot. i really doubt its their decision whether or not to charge after 5 or when to stop directing, besides, after a certain time when the lot starts emptying out, its not feasible to have people there. youd need one at every row plus people to walk around looking for open spots.

For a first-time visitor, it's often not obvious just how close the main entrance is to most areas of the parking lot. If you're parking beyond the canal and line of trees, you may not really notice it at all. Also, if their first visit was to the Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom lots, they may just be used to the parking being quite a distance from the front of the park. And then, of course, you get on the tram, ride to the front and think to yourself "Jeez. If I'd known it was THAT close, I would have walked." Which is probably why you see more people walking at the end of the day than at the beginning.

I think you misunderstood. I wasn't attacking you. Sorry if it came across that way. I'm sure that what you said is correct.

My point was: I would think that this policy, while technically applying to all workers, is really there only for the managers/professionals who make salaries, which are not publically disclosed.

With as much turnover as there is in hourly ranks, I would think that those wages would be pretty much public knowledge.

In my sarcastic way, I was just stating I hope that they wouldn't stoop to enforcing this on hourly workers who really enjoy their job and don't complain about the pay. If they do, I would have a problem with that.

People still wait for the tram at Epcot even though the entrance to the park is clearly a very short walk away

I notice that even on slow days at EPCOT...which I feel is one of the easiest walks ...We barely ever wait for the tram...and the only time we use it is when we go to MK...I'd rather have it at the end of the day..

just curious...

At first I did not know who you were taking about...but then when I read on I knew it was about Merf...and I remembered earlier I was going to post your comment...make sure you though next time refer who you are posting it too...because you may offend someone who you didn't mean to.

But yes I was wondering that too...as a disney fan..you think he would have an annual pass...but I think he is talking in general as a normal first timer guest:shrug:

oH its okay...thank you for clearing that up makes me feel better:D. Yes I agree with that last part... i really wish that they wouldn't enforce it to people who really loves there job and don't care about the pay. Thats what I use to say that if I got to pick my hours...and housing was free...I would do it for free...but people would tell me to shhh ...or else they may do it lol :lookaroun

Wow I might take a tram from the back parking lots near the race track at the MK ...but I walk from my car to the gates at every other park...but we never ever dreamed of cramming a stroller on the trams...we always walked from where ever with the strollers. Ughhh....just the thought of dealing with a stroller on a tram or bus gives me anxiety.

And if people are getting injured, wouldn't putting in doors to stop the injuries be a good idea?

I prefer to think of it as natural selection.

As for walking in front of the cars, I haven't gotten out of mine when I didn't hear a CM telling guest after guest to move to the front of the car for their safety. Short of helping each guest out of the car and leading them the correct way, what more can they do?

$11 to park? Merf, don't you get parking with an annual pass?

:ROFLOL:Natural Selection! Now don't go darwin on us...people will start an up roar! :lol:I'll have to save that and tell that to my friend who is a fan comedy like that!

Oh and I think Merf is ingoring that comment...he does that alot of times...when someone makes a good point...
That questions been asked a few times and he has yet to answered. But I think he is speaking about the Generic/ 1st timer guest
