Begin the day with a friendly voice
A companion unobtrusive
Plays the song that's so elusive
And the magic music makes your morning mood

Off on your way, hit the open road
There is magic at your fingers
For the Spirit ever lingers
Undemanding contact in your happy solitude

Invisible airwaves crackle with life
Bright antennae bristle with the energy
Emotional feedback on timeless wavelength
Bearing a gift beyond price, almost free

All this machinery making modern music
Can still be open hearted
Not so coldly charted
It's really just a question of your honesty, yeah
Your honesty
One likes to believe in the freedom of music
But glittering prizes and endless compromises
Shatter the illusion of integrity

For the words of the profits were written on the studio wall
Concert hall
And echoes with the sounds of salesmen

I never did it, no, I won`t admit it
Why should I lie for you anymore
You never loved me
You pushed and shoved me
I see the woman I never saw

I saw you laugh when the knife was twisted
It still hurts but the pain has shifted
I`m looking back at the time that drifted by
But I won`t cry for the wasted years
Cause you ain`t worth the salt in my tears

Feeling neglected, used and rejected
You need a shoulder to lean upon
Baby you picked him, found your next victim
Don`t worry, someone will come along

I broke the spell that you kept me under
I had enough of the rain and thunder
I lost track of the time and I wonder why
But I won`t cry for the wasted years
Cause you ain`t worth the salt in my tears

I`ll sit around and drink a few more beers
Until the memory just disappears
Cause you ain`t worth the salt in my tears

I saw you laugh when the knife was twisted
It still hurts but the pain has shifted
I`m looking back at the time that drifted by
But I won`t cry for the wasted years
Cause you ain`t worth the salt in my tears

Cause you ain`t worth the salt in my tears
Cause you ain`t worth the salt in my tears

Green Day - Jesus of Suburbia Lyrics

-Jesus Of Suburbia-

I'm the son of rage and love,
The Jesus of suburbia,
From the bible of "none of the above",
On a steady diet of soda pop and ritalin,
No one ever died for my sins in hell,
As far as I can tell,
At least the ones I got away with

But there's nothing wrong with me,
This is how I'm supposed to be,
In a land of make believe,
That don't believe in me

Get my television fix,
Sitting on my crucifix,
The living room in my private womb,
While the Mom's and Brad's are away,
To fall in love and fall in debt,
To alcohol and cigarettes and MJ,
To keep me insane and doing someone else's *coke*

-City Of The Damned-

At the center of the earth,
In the parking lot,
Of the 7-11 where I was taught,
The motto was just a lie

It says: home is where your heart is,
But what a shame,
'Cause everyone's heart,
Doesn't beat the same,
We're beating out of time

City of the dead,
At the end of another lost highway,
Signs misleading to nowhere,
City of the damned,
Lost children with dirty faces today,
No one really seems to care

I read the graffiti,
In the bathroom stall,
Like the holy scriptures in a shopping mall,
And so it seemed to confess,
It didn't say much,
But it only confirmed that,
The center of the earth,
Is the end of the world

And I could really care less
---
-I Don't Care-

I don't care if you don't,
I don't care if you don't,
I don't care if you don't care
I don't care if you don't,
I don't care if you don't,
I don't care if you don't care
I don't care if you don't,
I don't care if you don't,
I don't care if you don't care
I don't care if you don't,
I don't care if you don't,
I don't care if you don't care

Everyone Is So Full Of *crap*!
Born and raised by hypocrites,
Hearts recycled but never saved,
From the cradle to the grave,
We are the kids of war and peace,
From Anaheim to the middle east,
We are the stories and disciples of,
The Jesus Of Suburbia

Land of make believe,
And it don't believe in me,
Land of make believe,
And I don't believe,
And I don't care!
---
-Dearly Beloved-

Dearly beloved, are you listening?
I can't remember a word that you were saying,
Are we demented? Or am I disturbed?
The space that's in between insane and insecure

Oh therapy can you please fill the void?
Am I retarded or am I just overjoyed?
Nobody's perfect and I stand accused,
For the lack of a better word, and that's my best excuse
---
-Tales Of Another Broken Home-

To live and not to breathe,
Is to die in tragedy,
To run, to run away,
To find what you believe,
And I leave behind,
This hurricane of f***ing lies,
I lost my faith to this,
This town that don't exist

So I run,
I run away

To the light of masochists,
And I leave behind,
This hurricane of f***ing lies,
And I walked this line,
A million and one f***ing times,
But not this time

I don't feel any shame,
I won't apologize

When there ain't nowhere you can go,
Running away from pain,
When you've been victimized,
Tales from another broken home

LoriMistress, that's a GREAT song :) American Idiot is one of my favorite albums.
----
Pistol shots ring out in the barroom night
Enter Patty Valentine from the upper hall.
She sees the bartender in a pool of blood,
Cries out, "My God, they killed them all!"
Here comes the story of the Hurricane,
The man the authorities came to blame
For somethin' that he never done.
Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been
The champion of the world.

Three bodies lyin' there does Patty see
And another man named Bello, movin' around mysteriously.
"I didn't do it," he says, and he throws up his hands
"I was only robbin' the register, I hope you understand.
I saw them leavin'," he says, and he stops
"One of us had better call up the cops."
And so Patty calls the cops
And they arrive on the scene with their red lights flashin'
In the hot New Jersey night.

Meanwhile, far away in another part of town
Rubin Carter and a couple of friends are drivin' around.
Number one contender for the middleweight crown
Had no idea what kinda ________ was about to go down
When a cop pulled him over to the side of the road
Just like the time before and the time before that.
In Paterson that's just the way things go.
If you're black you might as well not show up on the street
'Less you wanna draw the heat.

Alfred Bello had a partner and he had a rap for the cops.
Him and Arthur Dexter Bradley were just out prowlin' around
He said, "I saw two men runnin' out, they looked like middleweights
They jumped into a white car with out-of-state plates."
And Miss Patty Valentine just nodded her head.
Cop said, "Wait a minute, boys, this one's not dead"
So they took him to the infirmary
And though this man could hardly see
They told him that he could identify the guilty men.

Four in the mornin' and they haul Rubin in,
Take him to the hospital and they bring him upstairs.
The wounded man looks up through his one dyin' eye
Says, "Wha'd you bring him in here for? He ain't the guy!"
Yes, here's the story of the Hurricane,
The man the authorities came to blame
For somethin' that he never done.
Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been
The champion of the world.

Four months later, the ghettos are in flame,
Rubin's in South America, fightin' for his name
While Arthur Dexter Bradley's still in the robbery game
And the cops are puttin' the screws to him, lookin' for somebody to blame.
"Remember that murder that happened in a bar?"
"Remember you said you saw the getaway car?"
"You think you'd like to play ball with the law?"
"Think it might-a been that fighter that you saw runnin' that night?"
"Don't forget that you are white."

Arthur Dexter Bradley said, "I'm really not sure."
Cops said, "A poor boy like you could use a break
We got you for the motel job and we're talkin' to your friend Bello
Now you don't wanta have to go back to jail, be a nice fellow.
You'll be doin' society a favor.
That sonofabitch is brave and gettin' braver.
We want to put his ______ in stir
We want to pin this triple murder on him
He ain't no Gentleman Jim."

Rubin could take a man out with just one punch
But he never did like to talk about it all that much.
It's my work, he'd say, and I do it for pay
And when it's over I'd just as soon go on my way
Up to some paradise
Where the trout streams flow and the air is nice
And ride a horse along a trail.
But then they took him to the jailhouse
Where they try to turn a man into a mouse.

All of Rubin's cards were marked in advance
The trial was a pig-circus, he never had a chance.
The judge made Rubin's witnesses drunkards from the slums
To the white folks who watched he was a revolutionary bum
And to the black folks he was just a crazy er.
No one doubted that he pulled the trigger.
And though they could not produce the gun,
The D.A. said he was the one who did the deed
And the all-white jury agreed.

Rubin Carter was falsely tried.
The crime was murder "one," guess who testified?
Bello and Bradley and they both baldly lied
And the newspapers, they all went along for the ride.
How can the life of such a man
Be in the palm of some fool's hand?
To see him obviously framed
Couldn't help but make me feel ashamed to live in a land
Where justice is a game.

Now all the criminals in their coats and their ties
Are free to drink martinis and watch the sun rise
While Rubin sits like Buddha in a ten-foot cell
An innocent man in a living hell.
That's the story of the Hurricane,
But it won't be over till they clear his name
And give him back the time he's done.
Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been
The champion of the world.

Some people might say my life is in a rut,
But I'm quite happy with what I got
People might say that I should strive for more,
But I'm so happy I can't see the point.

Something's happening here today
A show of strength with your boy's brigade and,
I'm so happy and you're so kind
You want more money - of course I don't mind
To buy nuclear textbooks for atomic crimes
And the public gets what the public wants
But I want nothing this society's got -

I'm going underground, (going underground)
Well the brass bands play and feet start to pound
Going underground, (going underground)
Well let the boys all sing and the boys all shout for tomorrow

Some people might get some pleasure out of hate
Me, I've enough already on my plate
People might need some tension to relax
Me, I'm too busy dodging between the flak
What you see is what you get
You've made your bed, you better lie in it
You choose your leaders and place your trust
As their lies wash you down and their promises rust
You'll see kidney machines replaced by rockets and guns
And the public wants what the public gets
But I don't get what this society wants

I'm going underground, (going underground)
Well the brass bands play and feet start to pound
Going underground, (going underground)
Well let the boys all sing and the boys all shout for tomorrow

We talk and talk until my head explodes
I turn on the news and my body froze
The braying sheep on my TV screen
Make this boy shout, make this boy scream!
Going underground, I'm going underground!

One of my favorite artists of all time:

BEN FOLDS - Fred Jones Pt 2 Lyrics

Fred sits alone at his desk in the dark
There's an awkward young shadow that waits in the hall
He's cleared all his things and he's put them in boxes
Things that remind him: 'Life has been good'

Twenty-five years
He's worked at the paper
A man's here to take him downstairs
And I'm sorry, Mr. Jones
It's time

There was no party, there were no songs
'Cause today's just a day like the day that he started
Noone has left here that knows his first name
And life barrels on like a runaway train
Where the passengers change
They don't change anything
You get off; someone else can get on

And I'm sorry, Mr. Jones
It's time

Streetlight shines through the shades
Casting lines on the floor, and lines on his face
He reflects on the day

Fred gets his paints out and goes to the basement
Projecting some slides onto a plain white
Canvas and traces it
Fills in the spaces
He turns off the slides, and it doesn't look right
Yeah, and all of these ________________
Have taken his place
He's forgotten but not yet gone

And I'm sorry, Mr. Jones
And I'm sorry, Mr. Jones
And I'm sorry, Mr. Jones
It's time

Paint the town
Take a bow
Thank everybody
You're gonna do it again
Are are the few, the proud
You are the antibody
Mind soul, and zen

And the world's a stage
And the world's a faze
And the end is near

So push rewind
Just in time
Thank anybody
You're gonna do it again

The way the you walk
It's just the way that you talk
Like it ain't no thing
And every single day is just a fling
Then the morning come

Take your knocks
Shake them off
Duck everybody
You're gonna take them again
You are you foe
Your friend
You are the paparazzi
You are the tragedian

And the world's a craze
And the world's a faze
And the end is near

So push rewind
Just in time
Thank anybody
You're gonna do it again

The way the you walk
It's just the way that you talk
Like it ain't no thing
And every single day is just a fling
And when it comes it moves so slow
Kinda like it's saying I told you so
Looking back before she goes
Tomorrow's gonna hurt

And the world's a stage
And the world's faze
And the end is near

So push rewind
Just in time
Thank anybody

It's just the way that you walk

Cool! AI is good, but it is just a little too poppy for me.
My favorite Green Day song:
"Going To Pasalacqua"

Here we go again, infatuation
Touches me just when I
Thought that it would end
Oh but then again it seems
Much more than that but
I'm not sure exactly what you're thinking

Well,I toss and turn all night
Thinking of your ways of effection
But to find that it's not different at all
I throw away my past mistakes
And contemplate my future
That's when I say...
What the hey!

Would I last forever?
You and I together, hand and hand
We run away (far away)
I'm in for nasty weather
But I'll take whatever you can
give that comes my way (far away)

Here we go again, infatuation
Touches me just when I
Thought that it would end
Oh but then again it seems
Much more than that but
I'm not sure exactly what you're thinking
Oh but then again it seems
Much more than that but
I'm not sure exactly what you're thinking

Well,I toss and turn all night
Thinking of your ways of effection
But to find that it's not different at all
I throw away my past mistakes
And contemplate my future
That's when I say...
What the hey!

Would I last forever?
You and I together, hand and hand
We run away (far away)
I'm in for nasty weather
But I'll take whatever you can

In the pattern of favorite Green Day songs...

Redundant

We're living in repetition
Content in the same old shtick again
Now the routine's turning to contention,
Like a production line going over and over and over,
Roller coaster
Now I cannot speak, I lost my voice
I'm speechless and redundant
'Cause I love you's not enough
I'm lost for words
Choreographed and lack of passion
Prototypes of what we were
Went full circle 'til I'm nauseous
Taken for granted now
Now I waste it, faked it, ate it, now I hate it
Now I cannot speak, I lost my voice
I'm speechless and redundant,
'Cause I love you's not enough
I'm lost for words, now I cannot speak

Everytime that I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face gettin’ clearer
The past is gone
It went by like dust to dawn
Isn’t that the way
Everybody’s got their dues in life to pay

I know what nobody knows
Where it comes and where it goes
I know it’s everybody’s sin
You got to lose to know how to win

Half my life is in books’ written pages
Live and learn from fools and from sages
You know it’s true
All the things come back to you

Sing with me, sing for the years
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears
Sing with me, if it’s just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good lord will take you away
(x2)

Dream on, dream on
Dream yourself a dream come true
Dream on, dream on
Dream until your dream come true
Dream on, dream on, dream on...

Sing with me, sing for the years
Sing for the laughter and sing for the tears
Sing with me, if it’s just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good lord will take you away

I've started a trend! We're all mad, I tell you! MMMMMAAAAAADDDDDDD!

Green Day: Ha-Ha, You're Dead!

How do you get your sleep at night?
How did you get your noose so tight?
Like chewing on tinfoil, it's so much fun.
Gonna be dead before your gone!

Cause look how things have gotten.
And I'll be happy so I won't pretend.
And I'll be cheering that you're going down.
And I'll be laughing, I'll be laughing...

How many feelings can you steal?
Gotta be part of your appeal.
I can see through you cause you're wearing thin.
Like chewing on tinfoil once again.

Ha-ha, you're dead!
And I'm so happy!
In loving memory
Of your demise...

When your ship is going down
I'll go out and paint the town.
Ha-ha, you're dead!
Ha-ha, you're dead!
Ha-ha, you're dead!

(Ha-ha-ha!)

Ha-ha, you're dead!
The joke is over.
You were an a**hole.
And now you're gone!
As your ship is going down
I'll stand by and watch you drown!

Ha-ha, you're dead!
You're gonna be dead!
Just remember what I said!
Ha-ha, you're dead!
Ha-ha, you're dead!
Ha-ha, you're dead!

Okay, here is some Fiona Apple lyrics...

Fiona Apple - Never is a Promise

Youll never see the courage I know'.
Its colors' richness won't appear within your view.
I'll never glow - the way that you glow.
Your presence dominates the judgements made on you.

But as the scenery grows, I see in different lights.
The shades and shadows undulate in my perception.
My feelings swell and stretch; I see from greater heights.
I understand what I am still too proud to mention - to you.

You'll say you understand, but you don't understand.
You'll say you'd never give up seeing eye to eye.
But never is a promise, and you can?t afford to lie.

You'll never touch - these things that I hold.
The skin of my emotions lies beneath my own.
You'll never feel the heat of this soul.
My fever burns me deeper than I've ever shown - to you.

You'll say, don?t fear your dreams, it's easier than it seems.
You'll say you'd never let me fall from hopes so high.
But never is a promise and you can.t afford to lie.

You'll never live the life that I live.
I'll never live the life that wakes me in the night.
You'll never hear the message I give.
You'll say it looks as though I might give up this fight.

But as the scenery grows, I see in different lights.
The shades and shadows undulate in my perception.
My feelings swell and stretch, I see from greater heights.
I realize what I am now too smart to mention - to you.

You'll say you understand, you'll never understand.
I'll say I'll never wake up knowing how or why.
I don't know what to believe in, you don't know who I am.
You'll say I need appeasing when I start to cry.
But never is a promise and I'll never need a lie.

Bones sinking like stones,
All that we fought for,
Homes, places we've grown,
All of us are done for

And we live in a beautiful world,
Yeah we do, yeah we do,
We live in a beautiful world

Bones sinking like stones,
All that we fought for,
Homes, places we've grown,
All of us are done for

We live in a beautiful world,
Yeah we do, yeah we do,
We live in a beautiful world

We live in a beautiful world,
Yeah we do, yeah we do,
We live in a beautiful world

Oh, all that I know
There's nothing here to run from,
'Cos yeah, everybody here's got somebody to lean on

Maybe in another life
I could find you there
Pulled away before your time
I can`t deal it`s so unfair

And it feels
And it feels like
Heaven`s so far away
And it feels
Yeah it feels like
The world has grown cold
Now that you`ve gone away

Leaving flowers on your grave
Show that I still care

But black roses and Hail Mary`s
Can`t bring back what`s taken from me
I reach to the sky
And call out your name
And if I could trade
I would

And it feels
And it feels like
Heaven`s so far away
And it stings
Yeah it stings now
The world is so cold
Now that you`ve gone away

Heavenly shades of night are falling
It's twilight time
Out of the mist your voice is calling
It's twilight time
When purple colored curtains
Mark the end of the day
I hear you my dear at twilight time

Deepening shadows gather splendor
As day is done
Fingers of night will soon surrender
The setting sun
I count the moments darling
Till you're here with me
Together at last at twilight time

Here in the after-glow of day
We keep our rendez-vous beneath the blue
Here in the sweet and same old way
I fall in love again as I did then
Deep in the dark your kiss will thrill me
Like days of old

Lighting the spark of love that fills me
With dreams untold
Each day I pray for evening just
To be with you
Together at last at twilight time
Together at last at twilight time
