Columbus Day week?

Hey everyone! We are going back to WDW this Oct. We will be there from the 14th to the 22nd. I know that Columbus day weekend is crowded(that's when we ended our trip last year), but what about the rest of that week? I'm hoping that we haven't made a mistake by booking those dates.:( We have friends meeting us there, so hopefuly it won't be too bad for those first 4 days. Thanks for any info.:D

Not too bad

My wife and I were down at WDW in 1998 the week of Columbus day. We saw the same crowds on Monday that you mention, but the rest of the week was not bad for us. The biggest issue we had was being able to see all the nighttime shows that we wanted to see due to the shorter hours. The only show we missed was Fantamic, but that was the first time the show was ever shown to the public so I would not take that as an indicator of crowds.

Everything else from restaurants to shows and rides was pretty much 5 minute wait or less. Have a great trip and I highly recommend the Animal Kingdom Lodge if you have not made reservations yet. We spent a week there last October and I'm not sure we will ever stay anywhere else on property.

Meega, nala kwishta!
We've been at that time several times throughout the years. It's the wekend and that Monday that sports the big crowds, the rest of week is you normal below average crowd levels for October.

Like swordsman_24 said, durning the weekdays, 5 min or less ride times.

It really is a great time to go, just avoid the weekend if you can. And to be honest, the other three parks were nothing compaired to MK for crowd levels. So I'd said, just avoid MK and you'll be fine for that weekend.

I agree with Akira and swordsman about EVERYTHING. (I've stayed at AKL 4 times and love it.) Many schools/businesses don't even have the day off anymore.
