Cornell is a good school, I had a bunch of friends over there while I lived in Ithaca... quite a lil town, Ithaca is... very... 'alternative' shall we say... lol... :)

Lyon College -- home of the 2nd place band in the World Pipeband Competitions. A small liberal arts private college with 500 students.

Uninversity of Central Arkansas -- summer school

I will have a degree in Business Administration -- Finance concentration and an Economics major.

I'm taking summer school so I can finish at Lyon in 7 semesters (having taken a smester off for CP).

That is unless I decide to transfer. Lyon's not a bad school, but its business program is a little less than what I would like. I still know my stuff.

RIJC (nicknamed reject)....now called CCRI? (help me out, Josh!) AD (RN) in nursing. What can I say? My parents were poor, I was the youngest of 5, and wasn't a good enough student (through lack of effort) for any major scholarships. I worked my way through school; my parents helped by taking care of my living expenses. (at home)

My daughter is my complete opposite...excellent student, and one of 2 children born 10 years apart, so money is not that much of an issue. (but I don't care how wealthy you are....34,000 - 38,000/year for a private school is still a lot of money!!!) She will be attending Dickinson College (as did her dad, undergrad), a small Liberal Arts school in Penn, on a merit scholarship. Keeping that scholarship will be her "work."

thats to bad, Bucknell is such a great school. i couldn't recommend it more, especially for engineering. We're rated the third best undergraduate engineering school in the country, which is kind of prestigous.

Unfortunately, she doesn't like math, so it wasn't a great fit! :( And they didn't offer her any money; she didn't "fall in love" with any school, so became more concerned with getting the major she wanted at a reasonable cost...but without going to a state or large school. All things being equal, she opted for the (relatively) cheapest. As long as she can keep her GPA up, she has the option of transferring to a different school (of the others who accepted her) later.

OUCH!!!! Yes, that IS a lot of money!!! Wow... and I thought Ithaca's tuition of 24k was a lot... When I was in school, I managed to get a grant of $7,000 my first year... and then I continued as a Resident Assistant to help pay for my room and board, in addition to a part time job I had to pay for my expenses. My parents didn't want me to work, and would have rather I spent more time studying... but of course, the way I look at it... by working, I spent less time partying. Also, personally, I can't stand not working... I'm a work-a-holic... :)

Well right now I'm at NCCC (Niagara County Community College) with a Dual Admisions to Canisuis College.

But I got a story to tell. When I went for my appointment with my dual admissions advisor he told me that I was in the wrong major at NCCC to transfer out to Canisus. So in a matter of an hour my entire nice schedule for next semister got changed into a total headache. And I have a completely new advisor, and my major changed. Let me tell you it was a very stressful hour. But everything is cool now.

I just finished my first year this morning with my last final so I'm a little extra happy today.:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Just a warning to anyone thinking about going to a huge college, especially one like make sure it's what you want to do. UCLA is extremely difficult, and I was a good student in HS. It's a good school though.

Also... the quarter systerm STINKS.... lol 10 weeks one class... it can be very difficult.

I'm just venting.. I have another paper due tomorrow!

I'm talking TOTAL cost...not just tuition!! We'll still be paying around 23,000, even with the scholarship.
