Don't you hate that?!

You can sell your books on your own through Amazon. I've done that the past three semesters and I have not had any problems. The site will walk you through listing your book and coming up with a price for it. Once it is sold there is a small fee that is paid to Amazon and all of the payments go through Amazon as well. Here's the link to get started if you are interested...... Amazon Marketplace

If you have any questions I'd be happy to help!

both amazon marketplace and dogears.net are great. i unloaded most of my old texts there... and unlike college buy-backs, you'll get a good price!

Ugh, I agree!! I just got back from selling (or attempting to sell) back my books, and luckily they took most of them back, but the ones I still have I'm never going to use again!!! And the thing that kills me is how much money I spent on these books this year and how little I get back!!!   :veryconfu

there's a small fee but its worth it

You mean the 2 something commission fee?

Well, like all of you I hate when they don't buy books back. Actually, I don't know if you guys have the same thing as I do but we have a bookstore across the street that sells books cheaper and I have found out that that give you a bit more money for the same books. I hate our Barnes and Noble Bookstore, even more now that I've worked there. The only benefit there is the 20% discount on textbooks.

Anyway, I use half.com and I've sold a book already and it worked out fine and hope to sell other books I have.

Well this is useful! I have at least one book from last semester that they wouldn't buy back. And actually, if I can get more money out of my books on the internet, then why should I even attempt to sell them back to the publisher? I think next semester I'm going to sell all my books on the internet.
