Collecting christmas tree decorations

fiance and i have done that every year since we started dating. we go to the christmas shop in downtown disney and buy a new one and have one made for that particular trip. our next trip will be a personalized just married.:sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:

We have been colleting Disney ornaments since our WDW honeymoon in 1987. Our tree is completely Disney & there is nothing better that puts a smile on my face when I open the door & see all the ornaments & fun memories! If I do not buy anthing else while I am there it is always an ornament. :xmas:

Unintentional Tradition

A few years ago while I was heping my mother set up the tree, we realized that we had ended up with an ornament everytime someone went somewhere. She has a tree FILLED with ornaments from family vacations from my childhood to current. Last year on my first visit to WDW I wanted to find the PERFECT WDW ornament, and went into EVERY shop that had even a few. Thankfully my friend was as into it as I was. I ended up getting a box set that had an ornament from every park. My Mother LOVED it and so do I. My next trip I will be on the search again for the perfect Disney ornament. I love decorating the tree and reliving the memories from all those ornaments that I will someday inherit.

We really love Christmas at our house and so we have 3 trees all in different rooms. And of course we have a dedicated Disney tree. We usually buy ours at the Downtown Disney World of Christmas store and Ye Olde Christmas shop around the corner from Liberty Tree Tavern.

Must buy an ornament and/or more monorail stuff every visit.

I have been collecting X-mas ornaments since our first trip in '96. I have always purchased my ornaments at MK "Ole Christmas Shoppe" in Liberty Square. I have monogrammed ornaments with our names and dates on them that the cast members have done such a great job. I have bought back souveniers for friends and family and they loved them with that special Disney touch of magic. You can pick them up at a later time of the day. Ship them home or to a Disney Resort. Also you can pick them up at package pick up in the front of the MK. You can get them to put any date on them or check on ebay for past X-mas ornaments. I have collected a few there also.

If you're afraid of your ornaments breaking on the way home, have them shipped straight from the store! That way, if they break in transit, WDW will replace them!

last dec we purchased extra large hanging ornamets. we hung them on plant hooks in our house. everyone wanted to know where to purchase them. dtd christmas store!:xmas:

I do the same thing! I always get my decoration from the Christmas store in Downtown Disney. I believe it is called the 12 days of Christmas. They do the personalization there and have the widest selction in Christmas decor that I've seen anywhere on Disney property.
