Given my surge of caffeine intake for the past 6 weeks, I was just wondering how much caffeine y'all out there drink a day? I don't mean just coffee, but also softdrinks, tea, redbull, etc.

I think I recently maxed out at 15 cups (based on 8 oz. cups)....

I probably knock back about 5 or 6 diet cokes a day, be the 12 ounce or 20 ounce variety (Diet Coke, Diet Vanilla Coke, Diet Lime Coke). No coffee and an occasional Tea (Earl Grey) with a splash of milk when the temperature takes a dip. Add to that at least 80 ounces of water a day and I am floating.

Oh my gosh! I thought my 2 a day was bad! Either diet pepsi or coke, depending on my mood. I'm trying to get myself un-dependent on it. But 15!!! :dazzle:

....and many cigarettes! *shakes head* :(

I usually have a glass of Coke (regular, don´t like diet coke) every day. On weekends of course, it´s more if I go out and either have iced tea or coke refills. :slurp: I don´t usually drink coffee unless I go out with some friends specifically for a coffee. :)

I'll have tea a few times a week- usually iced tea, sometimes hot. Now and then I'll have a Pepsi or a Dr. Pepper. Not too often though.

I am addicted to regular coke. preferable the fountain kind. but otherwise, probably an average of 3 or 4 coke cans a day. seriously, I can't kick the habit. I don't smoke, I drink a beer about once a month, and I don't have any other compuslive behaviors.

but coke?! if I had could have for the rest of my life was coke, I would be so happy.

and did you know that fountain coke tastes different in florida than here in illinois? seriously. it has more of a sweet taste. georgia too.

matter o' fact, I am having a coke right now. #3 of the day.

There was an episode of MythBusters that showed what pure coke (without the water added) and cans of coke does to certain things. If I remember right, the tooth in the can of coke stains the teeth really bad, but that was only after 24 hours. and no weight change in the tooth.

they did a ton of other cool things but I gotta find the link to the show....

mmm I cant find where they talk about that particular episode though. oh well. :)

Leave it in there long enough and there will be. Soft drinks have tons of acid, even in diet form. Coffee and tea are bad too... so are juices. Milk is bad because it's sweet AND sticky.

That pretty much leaves you with water! Tasty, huh :slurp:

All this talk has made me thirsty. There' s a 2 liter of Pepsi in the fridge that is calling my name.

I thought that is what would happen, they only tested for one day I think.

and a brush my teeth at least 3 times a day. and I use the crest whitening strips once a week. so my teeth are sparkling white. and I have never had a cavity. and I wore my retainer every day for 4 years. and and and.....I go to the dentist every 6 months.

I hear you! Most of my caffeine comes from drinking tea, mostly green tea. Once things allow me to cut back on coffee and Mountain Dew, I'm sure to restrict myself back to the loose teas I have at home.

The one thing that's kept me alert and awake during the hardest part of being a new Dad(again): chocolate covered roasted coffee beans. Never lets me down.

Question for coffee/cola/caffeine people...

This always baffled me: How long does it take to become "immune" to the daily caffeine effects???

I have friends who for years have claimed to need a cup of coffee just to get out of the house in the morning. It's even worse at work! They drink it by the POTFULLS!

Doesn't having the same dose of caffein everyday eventually become more habitual than beneficial? Or does caffeine continue to work the same forever?

I never seem to get the "caffeine rush" that helps others survive the day.

Inquiring minds want to know!

Thanks!
