Coco Boat Ride Mexico Pavilion

Not anytime soon.
The Coco overlay rumour has been kicking around for a while, but I don’t see Epcot getting anything more substantial than sprucing up for a while.

With the new Coco boat ride coming to California Adventure, do you think there is a renewed possibility for Epcot's Mexico Pavilion to eventually get a similar overlay or replacement to Gran Fiesta Tour?
It's definitely something that's been considered. Whether that's just musings, speculation or a proper look into it is anyone's guess.

Seeing as it's easier to create duplicates at the time of fabrication/development, I'd say that I wouldn't be surprised that while the stuff is developed for the Californian Adventure park that there are copies made for a Mexican Pavilion overhaul.

The general issue I've heard with bringing Coco to the Mexico pavilion is that it would bring in a ton of traffic, which the pavilion might not be able to accommodate without major changes. But if the ride does amazing at DCA maybe that will help WDW justify the investment.
100%... There is no way a popular ride can be in that pavilion.... They would have to make major changes....

I feel like previous Coco overlay talk further supports or helps it's chances. Like it's on the back of everyone's mind. I just see too many parallels. For all we know they're using plans or exact concepts that were previously pitched for Epcot.

It's a longshot and wishful thinking but I do wonder if the reason MK's Coco announcement for D23 didn't pan out is because "the boat ride" is still being considered.

They had seem to tease it in the Epcot poster showing no 3 Caballeros but a lonely Miguel..Which is when everyone went apespit for it..

They'd have to open the right side of the building to fit it if they did..or otherwise make a shorter version of it like they do with HM,PoTC,etc..
Yeah I always assumed it'd be a truncated or lite version. More so if it's a copy or clone. I think the bigger issue is how they'd rework the queue. Maybe taking over shop space? Or (armchair) an interactive hold queue in the same vein as Dumbo's playground. But might be getting ahead of ourselves here.

There are always options for the creative ;) If they were to expand the building, rather than just overlaying what is there, they could add a new, larger queue and load station in the additional space. They would not be tied to the current setup. It would mean though that you drift by the San Angel Inn at the end of the ride instead of the beginning, unless they reverse the whole thing.

I just don't know why we need clones. Three Caballeros is a niche and nice small aspect of Disney. It is also Donald's ride to mirror Mickey's. So for those two reasons its nice to leave it as a attraction that has a link and is unique. Build a second ride if you must on Coco
My little boys watch the Three Caballeros and enjoy the ride..... Build a new ride....
