Coca Cola Question...

I'm not a big soda drinker, but as far as low-cal sodas go I think Coke Zero and Sierra Mist Free are the two best now

Ya, I've got to say, interesting thread. I personally think it all tastes like crap. Non of it is good for you. And they do serve water everywhere. Some even bottled by Coke!

Better drink it up while its still on the market.I work for Coke and its not doing anywhere near what the big shots told us it was going to do. Its going to be just like C2- did great first 6 months than all the chains are not carrying it anymore.Probably one of the biggest flops since the "NEW" Coke deal in the 80s-lol :D

Thats a shame, cause its the closest thing to real coke that I have ever tasted. It doesnt have the kick of diet coke, but I like it better for taste...

About six years ago, a friend of mine e-mailed me an article on "aspartame poisoning". After checking out the different websites, etc. on it, I dropped eating and drinking anything with aspartame in it (it's in a lot of stuff - gum, cough drops, vitamins, etc.) but mostly sugarfree diet products, including diet pop. I went through major withdrawals because I loved diet pop (diet pepsi and especially diet cherry coke) and drank 6 or more a day. One of the side effects of aspartame poisoning is headaches. I had (what I would term a low or minor) headache for the last 15 years prior. Sometimes it got worse, sometimes it got better - I just figured it was a "fact of life" for me. When I quit drinking diet pop, the 15-year headache went away! And it hasn't returned, so I'm a believer. (Search for aspartame poisoning on the web-it's pretty interesting stuff)

Anyways, it's been great to have some of the stuff come back on the market with Splenda and, as stated above, some of it is really good with no aftertaste. Unfortunately, I don't think they have the pop quite right yet. I don't mind some of the Diet Rites (flavored, not cola) and some of the 7up plus's aren't too bad but I really could go for a good diet cola. My family drinks Pepsi one - it's not bad. I tried the new diet coke with splenda (not zero) the other one - it's not bad either but neither are "GOOD". I like the regular Coke and the regular Pepsi equally. Each are different from one another but both good to me. Sorry to get off the initial subject. :o

It is a real good product. The problem was the huge lack of marketing. We had a regional sales meeting when it was first introduced and they told us within a year it will be more popular than Diet Coke. They told us every time we turned on a rdaio or tv we would see or here a Zero ad.Ive seen the rooftop commercial 5 or 6 times and thats it and that doesnt even tell what the product is.I have people asking me all the time what is Zero.It was marketed to people myself who are die hard Coke drinkers and hate the taste of diet but should drink Diet since were getting little older and a little fatter. It was not meant to be a Diet drink but a regular drink without all the bad stuff.

And touching on the DR. Pepper threads-It is correct that is not owned by Coke or Pepsi but distributed by Pepsi or Coke according to region. It is Dr. Pepper/7-up based out of Texas which is owned by Cadburry/Schwepps.Thats why Pepsi came up with Sierra Mist because since Coke has Sprite when 7-ups contract was up with Pepsi as there main distributor in the US they had no lemon-lime drink.

Pepsi and Coke are both nice, though given a choice I'd take Coke, but given a bigger choice I'd take diet because of the calories and its still nice. However, my favourite is Dr.Pepper, but I didn't drink it beacause of the cals but now I have found Dr.Pepper Z which is basically Coke Zero but for Dr.P here in the UK. I can't tell the difference between Dr.P and Dr.P Z ! Which is fantastic because I don't want the cals! Unfortunately I only found it in regular bottles and in one store so far! Finger crossed for 2 litre bottles!
