CMs: how bad/good is tipping at WDW restaurants?

The bigger issue with the OP's question is wanting to know what individual CM's make and whether it's good or bad. There's many sides to this. The biggest being: The quality of server vs dining location vs customers they get.

You could have an outstanding server at a premier location with gracious vacationers or you could have servers who just do it cause it's a job, are at the "worst" location for serving with people who are going to stiff you (regardless of reason).

No current server will or should come on this thread and give any info, simple as that. Base pay rates are established, the rest is almost out of the servers hands (remember, no matter how good or bad the service, if someone's gonna stiff ya, they're gonna stiff ya).

So many know-it-alls on these boards. It really gets annoying.

I did not ask what they make per week. I asked a very specific question from the perspective of being a bartender myself. People in the business will understand what I asked. Of course there are variables beyond our control.

I was curious if an actual bartender or server would say, "you know what – we make a little less here but it's worth it for the perks" or "the non-tippers are far outweighed by the Big tippers and the steadiness of traffic makes it difficult to go home having had a $20 day, which can often happen in "the real world" outside of Disney.

You assuming there's "people in the business" at WDW on this forum who can answer your question....

Feel free to just hit the quote button, lol... I used to be a server, I know what it's like to work the industry.

As I stated, no current CM's should answer this thread publicly with an answer. IMO, you could get the full run of answers from tipping sucks to I clear well over X amount a day/night every time. As for the perks, what perks are you looking for/referring to?

Hey, if there aren't, then there aren't. I'm not sitting here demanding information LOL. It was a light question, and not a big deal. It seemed to me a good number of people posting on these boards self-identified as current or former cast members.

Cast members are one thing, specific roles another. And if they're current CMs, they're not likely to reveal their current roles on a WDW forum....

And I don't think you have any business telling people what they should or should not post.

This is not an official inquiry, just a casual discussion. Chillax.

We've had a few that told us what they did, and what everyone else did and showed us pictures of all the people that were "bad" to them... but they aren't here anymore.... ;)

I have no concern about what it seems like to you, but if that's what I was "after" then I would simply say that.

It seems to me if you don't much care for a particular thread, you might want to read elsewhere.

I can also post where I want as well. If you want to be a Disney bartender, jump in. You'll only find out one way as to what bartenders make there. As I said earlier, there's a ton of variables that go into a "good day/night" on the job.

That option is so far off, not happening any time soon.
