Clockwise or Counter-Clockwise

Which direction do you go when you enter the parks? Generally, I seem to do MK counterclockwise, starting with Tommorrowland. However, with EPCOT and AK, I seem to go clockwise on each. With EPCOT, I do SSE, Test Track, Mission Space and EEE and then go around WS, then in the afternoon, come out of WS on the Canada side and finish up Future World. With AK, we head up to Kiliminjaro, then around Asia and down to DinoLand. MGM doesn't really count because it has a funky set up anyway and the "clockwise/counterclockwise" thing isn't really an issue there.

Does it really matter which way you go? not realy as long as you get to do everything that you wanted to do. i don't think most people pay attention to clockwise or counterclock wise

No, it doesn't really matter, but neither does half the stuff that we discuss here. It's just something to talk about for those of us who are sitting here bored at work with nothing else to do.:D

I go to the left- I guess that is clockwise??? In MK that would be towards Adventure land (or I go strait....Hmmm, what would that be??? )
My DH and I were told on a tour of the MK that most American's go to the right (or was it the left? No, it was the right) and I always go to the left- I think it has something to do with being left handed.....I like that side better
Anyway, as long as I get on all the rides I want to do and it's not too crowded, I don't care what way I go :D

Not sure we follow any set direction. Usually we enter a park, take a deep breathe, take it all in, ask the kids what they want to ride first and make a mad dash... Unless of course they don't agree on the first ride, which happens nearly every time, I then invoke my "Dad Rights" and we head to MY choice... It's good to be the Dad... :king:

We were told most people go Counter Clockwise (right/Tomorrowland) first because they are right handed. Growing up, my mom always started Clockwise, going to Adventureland first, so its more natural for me.

We generally do just the oposite at Epcot because we tend to hit the Land/Imagination pavillions first, then head to Canada, make our way around, ending up in Mexico. By that time we could care less about TT or M:S.

DAK and the Studios, I dont think we have a real pattern...

We go clockwise at MK but only b/c Splash is the kids' favorite ride. Sometimes we don't even make it past Frontierland.

They say the animals at AK are more active in the morning, so that clockwise starting in Africa is the thing to do. Of course now many people are heading straight to ExpEv in Asia and going off in all directions afterward.

Soarin' must have a similar effect at Epcot. People are probably seeing nearby minor attractions like the Circle of Life film for the first time just because it's close to Soarin', with fewer making it over to the Test Track side of Future World.

Tomorrowland is my favorite section of MK so I generally go through Tomorrowland first and end the day in Adventureland. However when going to Epcot we generally do SSE, UOE if we feel like that one, MS, TT, The Land, Living Seas. Then we head over to World Showcase and start in Mexico since there's a ride there I guess and work our way around clockwise.

In Islands of Adventure we generally head for Seuss Landing first and then work our way through the Lost Continent, Toon Lagoon, and then Marvel Superhero. It seems everyone heads straight to the hulk there so we see less waits if we work opposite the crowd. The waits normally pick up as we meet up with the crowds in toon lagoon.

So it just depends on the park to me which directions we head to. If there's a ride we really want to do or a favorite part of the park we start that way.

Most first-time visitors go to the right first (counter clockwise) since most people are right handed. Going to the left first (clockwise) could beat a few morning crowds. But I still usually go right at MK, MGM & AK and left at Epcot.

Bigger "Land" enterances

According to the Tour Keys to the Kingdom most people go right when they first enter the park. That is why the enterance to Tomorrow Land is bigger than the enterance to Adventure land. I would recommend that tour to everyone. Lots of information about those little things. That you may not have even noticed. Like a camera on the top of POTC looking towards the train station.

Not that it really matters, But my family and I feel as though we have perfected Epcot and Magic kingdom.
Magic Kingdom: the first attractions oyu hit up are fastpass for BTMRR and ride splash mountain or visa versa, Fast pass Splash, ride BTMRR. the fastpass should be ready for when you are done riding and bamm!!! 2 atractions done in 20 min. Then we slowely work our way into adventureland and up into frontierland again (as though they where one land, they are convieniently connected) spending much time on tom sawyer island for games of tag in the fort. then we work to liberty square, and fantasyland. we tend to skip most of the atractions in fantasyland becasue the waits r too long for us being all 16, 17, 19, and 21 but we do hit up the important ones (IASW, SWSA, Dumbo, phillarmagic, and the Tea cups) we then run through Mickey's TTF real fast being that there are like no atractions and Mickey is everywhere else to be seen anyway. After this we do tomarrowland when it starts to get later. if you have never been, Tomarrowland is the absolute best at night. all the otherlands are nicely lit and beautiful. but tomarrowland takes on a whole new identity at night and it's the best. afterwards we head for MSUSA and hit up the shops, watch the fireworks from a choice spot and head to the Hotel. We also stop and watch the parades too from wherever we are when they come around. this always works for us, we never have to spend an overly amount of time waiting in lines becasue of when we hit each atraction. If you realy want to visit the last few atractions in MTTF or Fantasyland, then just dont spend as much time on Tom sawyers Island. i mean we spend a good hour at least there. Go enjoy the rest of the park with your time and leave the peace and quiet for me.

We go with small kids so our first stop in MK is in Fantasyland. Then usually over to Tomorrowland etc., then in AK we go straight away to get on Safari and then in a circle round pattern. In MGM...usually depends, the older kids go to ToT and I head off to Little Mermaid/playhouse disney. Epcot, used to go to TT first but now its straight away to Soarin' get fastpasses, ride it then use fastpasses.

I never follow a pattern and typically do quite well. Sometimes I'll go to splash, sometimes I'll go to spaceship earth, sometimes I'll sleep in and go to haunted mansion. I really like how once the wait time sign goes up, it takes them awhile to move it back down. As the crowds walk away from the 'long' line, the line inside gets shorter and shorter. tomorrowland at night is nice. space mountain says 60-90 minutes while inside there are 20 people waiting in line. keeps them from having a long line when the park closes I guess.

At universal I really like getting back to Jurassic Park and the lost continent before the crowds. I think its the best theming in orlando, and its great to experience without all the people.
