I rode the Tommorowland Transit Authority yesterday and the city of tommorow has been cleaned. It looks like it got some new paint and no more fallen trees.

That's terrific, I always looked at the model and hoped they would fix it soon. This is great news, Thanks for telling us all this terrific news.

Wait a minute...you are obviously talking about the monorail in the model...okay...did this ever move??? I vaguely remember something in that model moving at one time...was it the monorail...or the ferris wheel or something???

They don't want it to become DL's tomorrowland. Better known as Nothing there land.

Well, WHEN they close CoP (which is inevitable sadly)...They will have the old skyway, the CoP building, and the theatre to tear down and make ParkingLot Land or YetAnotherHotel Land...Or, they could just put HUGE BILLBOARDS of upcoming movies up and call it MarketingLand

No, no, no.

You forgot... Timekeeper is becoming "Stitch in Time", and CoP will become the Revolving Restaurant "Treasure Planet Hollywood". As far as the old theatre area, don't forget the "The Amazing Adventures of GismoDuck" coming soon to compete with Spider-man at IOA.:p

However, the old tomorrowland skyway will become Marketingland. As you walk the old queue you will be bombarded with upcoming merchandising tie-ins to sequels for each Disney movie ever made, and finally end up at the old Skyway ramp where you can choose to jump if you like.:hammer:

Yes, I am talking about the model, lol. There was one monorail car on the track that was halfway falling off the track, I dont think they moved, Im pretty sure it is the ferris wheel that moves.

You know what's funny?

All of the off-the-wall improvements you guys are talking about actually would improve "New" Tomorrowland in DL.

Marketingland and Gizmoduck both have to be better than the botch jobbed Rocket Rods and the ill-conceived re-take on Innoventions in the old CoP building.

You'd think Disney would learn from their error in Anaheim what not to remove from Tomorrowland in any park. And so far, so good because all attractions are at least in tact. Just because there aren't 45 minute "stand-by" lines for CoP or Timekeeper doesn't make them viable or unpopular attractions. It's just a shame that they barely have them running.

About four years ago, out here in L.A., we were sold a total can of crapola about what major improvements they were allegedly doing to DL's Tomorrowland. I swear, they had to have paid off the local press out here to get them to rave about the alleged improvements.

Aside from a bunch of neon and the removal of the '60's/Jetsonesque stainless steel siding everywhere, the ONLY attraction they legitimately improved is the Cars/Autopia attraction. And in the process, no more Circlevision, no more People Mover, no more massage your butt in nice A/C ride (aka Mission to Mars). Now just a lot of noise and a lot of unused space.

In fact, I jokingly tell my kids that Disneyland's new Tomorrowland attraction will be "Space"--as in you stand in a 45 minute line to see the insides of empty spaces that seem to be everywhere in this part of the park.

So WDW fans, be glad MK isn't like DL in that respect. Hopefully by 2005 and the 50th anniversary, they'll start filling in holes and turn DL into the gem it once was. But with DCA the priority, I'm not expecting anything new. That's why we slog out to the other coast--only way to really see new rides.

I'm glad to hear they updated the model, it's one of the many highlights on the TTA for me. I'm always fascinated with any model, I can sit and stare for hours!

It looks like I'm not the only one who fears for CoP. As I said in previous posts, SEE magazine doesn't list it on the map anymore (just a pic, no description), the WDW Web Site still lists it as seasonal...and most of the CM's I spoke to said it probably won't reopen until summer.

Then just what WOULD they do with all the empty space if TK, CoP and that theater close? I like the comments about marketing land =) Or maybe they can extend the line for Test Track....

Yeah they should extend the Test Track line...they could actually add a fourth line!!!

Stand-by line
Fastpass line
Singles line
"People that got there an hour after the park opened and STILL couldn't get a fastpass" line

Now that they cleaned up the model are they going to scrub all the bird feeces and grime off of all the buildings that TTA goes into and around?

Talk about a run-on sentence...........

:)

Speaking of that...WDI are pretty clever...Have you noticed that the area of the "bridge" that the TTA goes over (when it crosses the train tracks to enter Space Mountain) is painted black so that the steam from the train doesn't "stain" it

How do you know that it isn't really badly stained?

I noticed that years ago. I knew that's why they painted that portion black. It makes sense really. I bet the smoke from those trains really do a number on the bridges. Wonder if any other bridges are the same way.

Here is a picture I took the other day, once I looked at the picture they obviously did not touch up the paint on the outside of the display:
