Cinderella and Belle have absolutely gorgeous gowns in Cinderellabration from what I saw on the video posted on here. Now i know why they look so good $10,000 dresses.
The cost of the dresses aren't out of line with what WDW has spent on princess dresses in the past. The golden dress worn by Belle at Disney Studios is also in this price range.
When you consider the number of times a day a show is done day in and day out, sometimes in marginal weather, there is quite a bit of wear and tear to these costumes.
I have a piece of a retired Belle dress, (about a 1 inch wide by 4 inch long strip), that was given out while I was in the costume department on a Back Stage Magic tour. When you hear the term "destroyed" this is sometimes what actually happens. They have just been recycled into a bit of magic for someone.
The same can be said for even the cast member costumes for ride & food service. There is an attempt to control when and where they appear and are used. Even so a piece will pop up from time to time on ebay.
as a performer, I just wanted to say THANK YOU, again, for the compliments on the show...and I can assure you, the dresses are GORGEOUS up close (and in-person for the people in the crowd). They are quite detailed and I am honored to get to wear such elegent attire.
I also like the idea of having a display area for older costumes. Who knows what the future holds?
Thank you again for the support of our new show! :-D
I have seen Cinderellabration 6 times in 2 days lol. Once on purpose, and the 5 other times while working the popcorn cart in the Hub. It's a cool show, and you guys do great every time.
By the way, has anyone been on the Backlot Tour lately. In the prop warehouse building, they have a whole portion of it filled with tires from top to bottom. It was hundreds and hundreds of tires...that LMA will go through in 3 days!
If they put as much wear on the tires as a drifting event (I they more than likely put more on them), the tires will last less than a mile total. Which means, each car probably gets new tires every show.
