Cinderella RT will not accept Dining Plan online?

Hey Disney Fans,

I am a first time poster but I have looked on this site before. Male, 27, Writing to you from Melbourne Australia. 2 days ago booked my first Disney World trip in Feb 2011 14 days!
Basically I need some help, I booked a Magic Your Way with Dining Package for Pop Century Resort (I upgraded from the free Quick Service Dining) and booked online with the required 200.00USD deposit.

I am trying to book online ADR for Cinderellas Royal Table Breakfast for February, tables and times were available that was fine and I have retrieved my reservation as directed where it says 'Retrieve if you are using a Dining Plan' it acknowledged my reservation with the correct info. But When i went to finish the booking it said I have to pay 98.00USD (2 adults) on my credit card straight away! I went to the last step just incase on the last screen there was a 'Pay with Dining Plan' option, there was not!. With no mention that I have a Dining Plan, but my reservation clearly states I have it. I understand it takes 2 x Table Vouchers per person but I have a 14 night stay!.
Has anybody else ran into this problem online? Is it because I have only paid the deposit for the vacation online? Do you need the entire amount payed to start using reservations with Dining Plans? I understand this would not work with the Quick Service plan but I paid to upgrade!

You are lucky that it is only a cheap call to call Disney Reservations, I am trying to avoid it especially with the long wait times!

Update/EDIT: I have also tried book the Aloha Dinner Show Cat 2/3 (the Dining plan levels according to mousesavers.com) and this as well wants the credit card upfront. According to mousesavers.com there should be a section to choose Dining Option. So I do not think this is an exclusive Cinderella RT problem!
I appreciate any help given, Thanks in advance. :)

I booked my Cinderella RT dinner reservation online, and I too have the DDP. Although I had to enter
a CC # to complete the reservation, it was only to hold the reservation and in case we don't show up.
It has been 2 months since I booked, and there has been no charge to my credit card. Are you sure
it will charge your card? I have to say that I don't recall ever seeing an actual amount that would be
charged. Sorry you are having problems. Sounds like you may have to make that phone
call after all. Hope everything works out for you.

Thanks for the post

Apparently it will charge my credit card, according to some other posts in this website it should say $0.00 will be charged or something if it hooks on to the dining plan. If this is a 'glitch' in the website, I wonder if it will stick with my reservation until February or if i try 2 days later it will go away and *ding* the Dining Plan will be accepted

It is starting to sound like I will have to buy a phone card......

Because its so popular, a credit card number is necessary to hold the reservation even if you're on the dining plan. This is also a requirement for booking the dinner shows (hoop de dip, poly list or mickey's backyard bbq. You'll only be charged if you cancel too soon to the day of the reservation, I think its 24 hours, or if you just don't show up.

Thanks for your post slappy magoo,

I am fine if the website needs a CC to hold the reservation, and thats what originally I thought would happen but apparently they will charge my CC the full amount immediately. Doing some searching and I am reading one or two cases that sometimes there are glitches for booking CRT online with Dining Plans, Looks like I lucked out!

I booked CRT for our Dec trip back at our 180 mark in June. I had to put down my CC# to hold the ressie, but my card was most definitely not charged. I just checked my e-mail confirm for the booking from Disney and it's a 1 day cxl window for CRT (unlike Akershus, which is 2 days...also required a CC#, but also did not charge at booking time).

Just Before you booked it, did it say $94.67 (or how ever much) was going to be charged to your card straight away?, because I am getting that screen. :veryconfu
I mean I can always try it with a credit card that only has 50 bucks on it and see if it works or not. If I saw anything on the final screen even hinting that they would not take the money I would go ahead, plus if I live in North America I would just test it and call Disney Res if it took my money.

Thanks for your post :)

I just re-read your original post and I think I might see the problem now... Did you book your reservation with a QS dining plan? If so, there would be no TS vouchers available for the CRT reservation. Upgrade
your dining plan, THEN make your reservation... I bet that'll make the difference! Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply.

Good question, but no, I upgraded before I purchased. So I have the Magic Your Way plus Dining from the very beginning.

But I appreciate the help and offering suggestions :)

Sorry... thought that was it! I have read on other posts that IF they charge your card beforehand, and you are
on the DDP, they will refund you when you reach the restaurant. Have a great trip!!

Hmmmmm...for the heck of it, I went on to the Disney Web site and pretended to book CRT. It is definitely different.

The payment pg says "Certain reservations require a credit card guaranty or payment in full. If no payment is due today but a credit card guaranty is required, please provide your card information below. Your card will not be charged at this time." And then it says this directly below...

I definitely think they've changed this up since I booked.

Granted, when I booked I had it linked to my vacation reservation which has me on the DDP, but I went on to the Web site several times before my 180 days to "practice" going through the booking since CRT was my #1 priority and all of the horror stories about diffuculty getting in had me really spooked. All my practice happened before the Web site change in June, but in my practice- I never once entered my confirm number and it never said it was going to charge me (i.e. it didn't care if I was on DDP or not). And while I officially booked after the Web site change...it still didn't charge me. I just checked my email confirm again and it clearly says amt charged = $0.00.

On a side note, I wouldn't upgrade to the regular DDP to get CRT. If you do the math, it's a waste of $ to blow 2 DDP credits PP on this. i.e. it's a better deal for the $ to pay this one out of pocket. I'd call Disney if possilbe to find out what the deal is with payment on this.

Thanks for doing a practice run. That is pretty much what I am getting on the last screen that it will charge me straight away even though i have my confirmation number linked to the reservation with the Dining Plan. Yep it looks like I will have to call...

we've booked crt twice before (recently) while on ddp and had to use a credit card to hold the reservation but nothing was ever charged to our card. we of course made our reservation when the time came so no reason for them to charge anything. if your card has been charged it's either a mistake or fraud.

We went in May, and I booked online linking to my reservation with the DDP. The website specifically said it was only using the card to hold the reservation, but at dinner they charged my credit card and did not use the DDP credits as both the hostess and waitress said they would. I found out 2 days later, when I asked concierge how many credits we had remaining. Disney had a hard time sorting out the problem, but after an hour of trying to figure out what to do they let me head to the parks while they fixed it. I got a call that evening that they had sorted it out, but it was definitely inconvenient. When you get to the restaurant, make sure they use DDP credits and keep the receipt for proof.

I booked a show and got the same thing, I called since I am US and the woman said it's just a hold, no charge is made, so it's ok to enter the card, it's just a hold. She told me it's for in case you end up canceling out of the period you are allowed and also for if you are a no-show. The show is popular and the CRT is popular as well, you no-show that is someone that could have come, so they charge you for it, having the card on hand makes it easier for them to do then track you down and expect you to pay for not showing up in the end.
