Cinderella Castle 50th Overlay

Actually it was only TP'd for one day for the opening of SGE, not for the Halloween Party.

We were not there for the opening of SGE, only the party and it was done.

I'm looking forward to the overlay. The delicacy of the gold spirals and their appearance of hanging in air above the castle is a nice touch. I will be curious about the scale of the characters....

Once up, I imagine there will be a debate as to who should occupy which position, who deserves to be on top and so on.

I also like the DL overlay and the difference between the two parks. DL deserves to be the center of this celebration (with the rest of us joining in).

DL is getting a much more extensive rehab--full repainting of the Castle in a project that will stretch about 8 months total (it's halfway complete). WDW's Castle isn't getting anything as major, but I'll be happy as long as the characters aren't balloons...I was so excited about the Castle Cake till I saw it in person and the spires were swaying in the wind...balloons look so cheap. The 50th transformations are much more tasteful than that gaudy cake...

I definitely remember the opening to the WWoD which castlecake2.0 is describing, and it does look similar!

After seeing the December 21 update of the Castle overlay picture, does anyone know if they are continuing the overlay already, or was it just a test?

I'm not sure if I like all the gold wrapped around the castle
