Christmas at WDW

Christmas is the most wonderful time to be at Disney World. The decprations are beautiful and they cover eveything with a spinkle of pixie dust and make it extra special. MVMCP is deffinately worth every cent, there are lots of extra shows to see and the parade and fireworks are cool. I would recomend going at the beginning of december though, the crowds don't get heavy until christmas week.

We went to WDW Dec. 13 - Dec. 27 2003. It was absolutely magical. Echoing previous comments, the parks were extremely quiet until December 20th. That date, when we returned to our hotel (A.S.M.) there was a really long queue at Guest Services for check-in, and my thoughts were "uh-oh!"

From then on it was busy busy busy. Luckily enough, we had covered every attraction we had wanted to experience.

Back onto the subject of Christmas though, I cannot speak highly enough about the WDW Christmas experience. Walking down Main Street on Christmas Day, I started to cry, as it had been my life long dream to be in Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day, and I never thought it would come true.

Did I mention we're going back to WDW this year? (Dec. 10 - Dec. 22). We're booked in for MVMCP for Dec. 13th, and Candlelight for Dec. 15th. It'll be my first trip with a camcorder, so I'm very excited about that :D

The only downside for me was the weather in the evening. We really felt the cold waiting for parades/shows to start. I (mistakenly) wore my shorts on the first day. For some reason, cast members kept asking us if we were from Canada  However, we were told by various individuals that the weather was colder than usual, so I'm hoping it'll be warmer this time!

To summarise, you have to go WDW at least once in your lifetime at Christmas. Pack a lot of hankies though, as many of the sights will reduce you to tears (and I mean that in a good way!)

We went to MVMCP last year on a sold out day and we are going again this year. We got to the park about 4:00 and were able to do lots of attractions before the party officially started. We saw all the shows, watched the late parade, had our picture taken and saw the Christmas version of Wishes. Looking forward to going again this year. :xmas:

Yes. MVMCP is worth it! They have a special parade, special fireworks, you can get on all the major rides with little or no wait, you get free cocoa and cookies, and there are special holiday decorations up that aren't there during the regular park times. We're going down Dec 8 - 13, staying at Wilderness Lodge (seemed to be the perfect atmosphere for Christmas).

It's been a couple years since I've been during an off-season, what should I expect wait-times to be like at more popular/e-ticket attractions? 20 - 30 minutes?
we will be there the same time but we go 6-12. we stay at saratoga 6-9 then the 9-11 at VWL then 11-12 at OKW. ihate changing resorts 3 times but no rooms left at VWL.
