OK - well in that case, I'm older than dirt, love Disney, but have been known to visit other parks too....:lookaroun

Have an ax to grind, Judge Smails? Are there too many Al Czerviks running around Bushwood. This condescending attitude that a few senior members have is what turns a lot people off to the idea of purchasing Premium Passes.

Ah, yes. The old troll bugaboo that gets tossed around anytime someone has the temerity to state an opinion that is different than someone with over 10,000 posts.
Forgive me, your Highness.

That's not a troll...it's a giant....and I was merely making light of your post referring to "Senior Members".

Why are you so defensive?

My sincerest apologies for misidentifying that creature. It is indeed a giant. Mythological creatures have never been my strong point.

And it's not necessarily defensiveness that you detect but trepidation. I've lurked here for a few years and I seen how sometimes a post is judged on count rather than content. And how some posters, who might not share the common view, get tarred and feathered.

I think we actually agree to some extent on the thread in question. The OP has a history of "Disney is doomed" threads and I see that the battle is still raging in there.

I understand your frustration with that thread and several others that have been going on in the last few weeks.

However, is starting a poll about that thread any less childish than what's going on in there?

For the most part, I really dig this board. I'm a big fan of Martin's videos and I've learned more here about trip planning and Disneyana than on any other board out there. I've actually had a blast in the obnoxious thread as well.

I am actually considering paying for a membership in gratitude. But when I see something like this, it makes me think twice. If I wanted to pay to see haughty attitudes I'd book another week at the Grand Floridian. At least they have the monorails.

This is not an attack against you or anyone else specifically, just an observation.

I do like your avatar. I miss the cleaner look that Tomarrowland once had. I hope our next encounter will be more positive.

Hey Ned, I used to have a Premium Pass here. The only reason I don't is financial, really. I will admit, the first time I ventured into the Premium posting area, I thought the people there were real jerks and stayed out for a while. Heck, the whole reason I signed up to support the site was that I was downloading a couple of videos that I loved and decided if I was going to use up that much bandwidth, I might as well contribute something back. After a few months, I poked my head back in and found that the folks in the Premium area were actually really nice and supportive and that I had sort of caught them at a bad time when there was some of the stupidity going on that happens whenever a large group of people gather on the internet. It didn't really happen again after that, so I stuck around for a couple of years as a Premium member. I would say, if you're thinking about getting a pass, get one. If only to support a great site with lots of great content. Don't let how one person or another acts be what keeps you from doing so, they don't speak for what you think the content of this site is worth. If you think the content is worth spending a little money to help keep going, then go for it. If you don't, then just continue to enjoy what you do on the site as you have been and know that nobody will think any less of you.
