Some may argue $450 per night for a hotel room is stealing.
Big difference... hopefully you can figure that out.

Trying to scam your way into a cheaper ticket is wrong. Try to rationalize it however you want, but it's apparent you know it's wrong.

I have an even better one then, what is the ethical decision if as a parent you bought an AP and don't plan on renewing but your child wasn't turning 3 until you've had your pass for 7 months. Do you buy a separate ticket each time you go with your now 3 year old or buy them an annual pass they can only use for 5 months or option 3 tell them she's still 2 1/2?

Or option 4. YOU buy tickets and let your child use the annual pass.

The cheaper option would be to buy a multi-day parkhopper for your child to use until YOUR annual pass runs out. (If you are a resident, and?or will be going for more than 10 days, it would be cheaper to buy the annual pass for your child.)

Let's face it, most of us have not gotten full use from our annual passes from time to time; I know I haven't. So we've all paid for unused months and days.

Of course, the cheapest option is to not mention that your child is 3; most gate CMs can't tell the difference between a 2&1/2 year old and a 3&1/2 year old, so you won't be questioned.

As mentioned before, it's YOUR conscience. But I hope that we don't reach a point where EVERY guest will need a ticket because of all of the extra large 2 year olds running around. (Although those who think that babies don't belong at WDW will be happy, as most people would not buy a ticket for an infant, so would wait until a child was older.)

So if the last day of your trip is a kid's 3rd B-day, you buy a one day park hopper ticket for a hundred bucks? Steep price to pay for a birthday party!

I thought that as long as the child was under three when the ticket was purchased, they could keep using it until it ran out.

I guess I would take that into consideration when planning the trip? Seriously, if you want to nitpick and rationalize, go right ahead. What if the park is open until 1AM the day before my child's birthday. Do I still have to pay? What if I'm from the west coast? What if I'm from Guam; the child isn't really 3 until the end of the day.

Generally, the rule has been (when I questioned guest services about it) that your child's age at the time of purchase, or at check-inis what counts as far as purchasing a ticket goes. If you have an 8 year old (or whatever the current cut-off is) who turns 9 during your trip, you don't have to buy an adult ticket.

As long as they don't mind paying personal state income tax and if you live in NYC, paying NYC personal income tax too. The grass is alway greener on the other side, until you get to that side and find out it is made up of weeds.

They never check an ID not even for pass activation, how is a 9 year old going to have a driver license or a military ID....DUHHHHHHH!!!!. They only do finger scans on adults, I've given my AP to all my friends kids with never a question asked
