Chef Mickey's relocated to the ballroom tonight

Just as we approached Chef Mickey's for dinner we were redirected to the ballroom on the 2nd floor with no explanation or apology or anything of the sort. Very bummed as my son loves this restaurant and today is his birthday which is why we are eating here. So essentially we are now eating "wedding reception" style. Just great........

Poor little guy. It's too bad he won't be in his favorite place. And poor you. Having to see disappointed faces on little ones is so hard for moms! I hope having the same food and characters helps and that he still has a good time!

I always thought those windows were Perspex. Plastic doesn't shatter like that though!

A few minutes into it he came around. As soon as the napkins were twirling he forgot he was in a ballroom! All is good and the servers are doing everything and anything to make it fun!!!!

Haha! No actually we didn't see it, we are at BLT and use the opposite side entrance. We walked to MK today so we were not in the main building other than for dinner

To be honest I'm sure they are just as disappointed. I doubt Disney employees want to deal with broken glass, relocating a restaurant on the fly, and the negative side effects that go along with it.

I might have "fibbed" and said it was a special event just for him lol.

Thanks so much for all of the well wishes. You guys rock! The night ended fantastic and we are all good . The folks in the restaurant definitely had their hands full trying to get it sorted out.

Instead of replacing the window they should just put in a strobe effect. At other times, they could just turn off the lights completely.

that is one thing i love about staying there. i love the birds inside. as long as they don't crap on my food like they did at the counter service Mexican restaurant at EPCOT!
