what is really funny that the idea for the cheesecake factory orginated in Michigan, and there isn't even one in the state of michigan. . . the only one near us in Chicago which is 4 1/2 hours away from me!!! I love the real cheesecake factory and we always have to eat there when we go to chicago.

meh, overpriced sub par dining at best. I put that place on par with tgi fridays. They try too hard to make too many things and everything falls short.

its a shame though for those who dont have one by their house

No it's not. They have decent food, but they're over priced and over sized portions. I don't like paying for 3 portions in one visit and being served 2. I'd rather pay for 1 portion of food and be able to eat what's served.

Besides, not having thousands of locations is what keeps them special and unique for those that enjoy them.

Many people are mis-reading the original posting. There was NO "Cheese Cake Factory" as you know it. It was an "Express" location which was a prototype for a mini-store initially for DisneyQuest only.

And for those that think they missed something, there is a reason why it's closing. It was nothing like the traditional CCF locations you know and was certainly not maintained like them either.

Though I'm not a CCF lover, I would certainly NOT raise any objections to a full CCF facility opening in Downtown, perhaps on the West Side. I think it would add to the atmosphere and open more dining opportunities.

I agree. The Cheesecake Factory Express pulling out is in no way a bad thing for either DQ or DTD. It was nothing even remotely resembling a real Cheesecake Factory. And I'm not a huge CCF fan.

The Express location was to me like those Papa Johns vendors who sell in sporting venues. It's like microwaved frozen pizza in a little Papa Johns box, nothing like the original.

Very true but if the cheesecake was terrible that would just be a bad name for the place.
It may be great, but I would expect that of any $8 piece of cheesecake...I like Cheesecake Factory, but only as a treat when I have $40 to blow...the saving grace is that I get two meals out of it. I would certainly be happy with half the portions if it meant half the price though. I think getting a Mt. Fuji-sized salad defeats the purpose of getting a salad...granted, after the 90-minute wait to get a table, you typically are very hungry. While I really like Cheesecake Factory, I agree that it is over-rated and over-priced.

So long fair well to that dump. Dirty tables & floors, lazy staff and bad design. Let's Disney add more light snack options and rip all those stupid internet terminals out. All they do is encourage loads of lazy parents to sit their while there brats run wild and they block up tables while not eat or drinking.

We discovered the cakes at the cafe after making more regular DQ trips thanks to our 14-Day Ultimate Passes.

I liked the chocolate cake a lot and their hot chocolate. In that respect I will sort of miss it. Also hope they take the chance to update the web terminals, those things are getting old and they still run IE5

Though is there an actual Cheesecake Factory around Orlando at all?

Foodquest is going to be run by the DTD food and beverage team (Captain Jacks) and considering the chef that will be heading it up (she's AMAZING), this should prove to be a SIGNIFICANT improvement... and it helps that DW will be overseeing it :D

Anywho, old news... I reported this MONTHS ago.

Went to Cheescake Factory on ONCE.

I was in Columbus Ohio training last year and ate there for Dinner.

Now I am not one to complain but I was not happy with the food.

I ordered the Fish and Chips and it was 15 bucks.

Dont mind paying for good food but I swear there were 2 pieces of fish that were the size of chicken nuggets and a mountain of fries.

Our experience with the Cheescake Factory has always been positive, this goes for their regular locations, we never ate at the one at Disney Quest.

Thanks for the clarification!! I thought I was losing it! The "Express" makes a lot more sense.
