Checking the age of children at the gate

I am not trying to start a huge debate, and I'm not saying that I am going to do this--I'm just curious because I saw someone else allude to it on another thread.

My son is 3 years old so, technically, he needs a ticket to get into the parks. But, how do the CMs know that he's 3 and not 2?

Like I said, I'm not saying that I am going to try to "sneak" my 3 year old in as a 2 year old, but I'm just curious! I've never seen the CMs ever question anyone walking through the gates so I wondered if they ever do!

They wont ask you any questions. Its just a moral issue.

They don't ask for any kind of proof (no birth certificate required), they just trust that if you say your child is 2 then he is 2. My DD was always big for her age and I was never questioned. Believe me when she was 2 if she was someone elses child I never would have believed she was 2. I was so worried about it that I brought her birth certificate just in case but, they never questioned her age.

Although a few CMs did raise their eyebrows at me when I didn't put a ticket in for my 2 year old daughter (she's always been big for her age - in fact she just turned three and people ask me if she's starting school in the fall ).

I'm almost wanted to carry around a birth certificate to prove I wasn't trying to cheat the system!

I figured that the CMs would probably not grill a poor child on their age as they were entering the Happiest Place on Earth! I would hope they wouldnt ask a parent to present a birth certificate either!

Well a CM can ask, but they can't really prove you wrong if you were to say your child was younger than they actually are.

I have the same issue with my son. He's a tall boy...at 20 months he is 40' and people do not believe me when I say he's not even 2 yet!! This past March when we went I didn't have any issues with him and being asked, but we are going again this september....he turns 2 10/10 so he will be under 2 for the flights (i am not paying for a seat...when he refuses to sit it in!) So I am taking a copy of his birth certificate...just in case.
