My brother and sister in law are going to Disney in Feb and they asked me if I thought they could get my 4yr old nephew in for free as a 2yr old if they pushed him through in his stroller. Do they ever ask about ages at gate or just assume the kids are 2.

My understanding is that they take people's word for it that their child is two. However, I'm not sure if that's the case if the child is clearly not 2, which a 4 year old would not be able to pass for.

What is it with people trying to cheat the system. If he looks older than 2 then yes they will question him. There are a lot of kids older than 2 that are in strollers so just because they put him in a stroller, does not automatically make him 2 and mean he gets in for free.

Why would they do that?

If he does not look 2, the CM may ask for his ticket. Then your brother in law will have to flat out lie to the CM, and your nephew (if he is anything like my 4 year old) will correct him and inform the CM that he is 4. Then your BIL will look like a jacka$$. Is it worth it?

Isn't trying to sneak a 4 year old in for free a little much?

Is this a joke just to get our members riled up or are you seriously asking this question?

If they want to cheat the system then let them go ahead and try it. Let us know if it works for them!

(How you're going to pass off a 4 year old as a 2 year old is beyond me!?!)

Actually, it is policy NOT to question it. If you say he is 2, he is 2.

Same as child vs adult ticket around the age of 10. If you say the child is under 10, then he/she is.

Correct, the CM may ask the child's age just looking for the ticket. If you tell the CM that the child is under 3, then the CM will treat the child as not needing a ticket.

Don't they track people ages? For instance, we took our kids with us last year and had them listed as 8 and 7. So when we take them this year should they not show in the system as having aged?

My 4 year old is always mistaken for a 2 year old.....depends on the child...

They do when you book a resort room or package, if you do not purchase tickets with your room reservation and get them elsewhere..there is no way of telling how old the child is.

They don't 'track' you, no.
And at the gate is completely different that when you are booking.

Why would you even ask this kinda question here?

Disney won't ask the ask, but have fun screwing WDW over. I've seen this done several times and it's defiantly not cool. :hammer:

Ok, so there's always exceptions to the rule! But most 4 year olds can't pass for a 2 year old!

And frankly I don't care what they do! If they want to pass their 8 year old off as 2 year old... whatever! They're the ones that have to sleep at night!

I was just making a statement that generally it would be hard to pass off a 4 year old as a 2 year old!

It's 3 and under that is free anyway right???? We have never had a problem with anyone asking our ages...

Why make a big deal over a 4 year old getting in free... In the big picture it's probably no big deal to Disney anyway...

It still is beyond me b/c I've personally never seen a 4 year old who could pass for a 2 year old. But if they're out there fine... I've haven't laid eyes on every 4 year old in the world. You're right... I'm wrong!
