So I am looking for ideas for myself and figuring out how to plan this mini trip. I may not have the time or money for a while for a full blown disney trip so I am thinking of taking a few mini trips that last only 2-3 days from Boston.

What is the cheapest you guys have done?? I am thinking stay at a value resort so i can have magical express? and then just buy park tickets and go from there....

You're on the right track. Also, you can eat mostly Quick Service meals. There are lots of places that serve delicious Quick Service meals now.

Epcot (Future World) - The Grill Shop in Sunshine Seasons @ The Land
Epcot (World Showcase) - La Cantina de san Angel
Animal Kingdom - Flame Tree Barbecue
Magic Kingdom - Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe
Downtown Disney - Wolfgang Puck Express
And of course the food courts at the resorts.....most of them have several pretty good offerrings

If time share presentations don't annoy you too much, you can often get great deals through them. I was very pleasently surpised doing this once.

Cheapest vacation to Disney World ever?

Try to find a ride share to and from Orlando. You'll have to chip in a bit for gas, but I can't think of a cheaper option. Or just hitch-hike it. Is this legal in the States?

Stay in a value and bring all of your own food. Granola bars, non-perishable sandwich makings, dried soup, fruit/veggies. Or find a cheap place to stay off site, but be close enough to walk to DTD to catch the buses.

Bring your own water bottle and you are set!

Of course, you might not have the time to drive/ride share down.

Best of luck.

Will your mini trips be within a single 365-day period and if so have you considered an Annual Pass?

The Annual Pass costs slightly less than two 3-day Park Hoppers so it will pay for itself by the end of your second trip. Any trips after that are essentially free! Annual Passholders also receive dining and merchandise discounts and occasionally even room discounts.

My wife and I did a week in Disney for $1000 including a condo rental, food and the drive down. We had annual passes and saved a little on food using tables in wonderland, both of which we bought on our previous trip.

That was the cheapest trip I could possibly imagine - and to be honest, it wasn't quite the same. Trying to budget and save money the whole time seems to make it somehow less of a vacation - but that's probably just me.

We have done a couple of mini trips and we did the following:
we drove from Va so we had a car and stayed in DTD... Usually the Best Western/Regal Sun.....But if you need magical express then stay at a value.
Are you military? They have great discounts for tickets and rooms.
Aren't military? Do you know someone who is? They MIGHT be able to buy tickets for you on base (but I think this rules has changes and you and the miiltary person has to be present to redeem tickets so you need to check up on this)
Pin codes... Even if you have 10 vacation DVD sign-up to get another...even with different email or at least update your account and then you might get a pin code (worked for me)
