Cheap (as in free) souvenirs

While at a friend's house yesterday, I noticed that he had a large pile of Fastpasses from around the Magic Kingdom which he had held onto. I'm doing the College Program in a few months, and while I plan on visiting Property Control quite a bit, seeing his stack got me thinking that a really neat souvenir "mission" would be to save a Fastpass from every ride on property that uses the system. You can check the parkmaps to find lists of all the applicable attractions and having a complete set would be neat, with all the various ride logos on the tickets.

has anybody else done this--and what other cheap souvenirs do people save?

I have few of those and use them still. They really work good! I love that ink and point. :)

Oh, I keep everything. I'm ridiculous. I've got a duffle bag that I keep a lot of keepsake, momento type items in. I also stuff some of these things in my scrapbooks as well. Some of the items I keep from each trip: WDW napkins, maps, room keys, park tickets, parking passes, brochures from every place I go (including restaurants, when available), pressed pennies, fastpasses & just about everything else that isn't bolted down. When I stay on property, I keep every little thing from the room that I can get away with legally.

On one trip, my daughter was about 2 inches too short for ToT & she was not at all happy about that. The CM who measured her felt bad & he gave her a pass to the front of the line to be used once she got those extra inches. That, too, became a souvenir, along with one she got from Space Mountain.

They've really cracked down on people carrying jeeps through customs. I only managed to fit two jeeps down my trousers last time and i only barely made it through the metal detector!!

I never thought about the "trouser hide" option - I'll give it a go this year then, mind you, don't they have those full body x-ray things? Might prove a bit tricky!

Menus - I ask to keep the menu from restaurants from all around WDW. Pictures are also great, somewhat free, souvenirs. You can take a photo that you took - mount on a piece of heavy stock and you have a nice little gift. I do that with the cool pictures that I get of the animals in the AK. You can send a email postcard from Imagination in Epcot. Some cast members even have VIP ride passes. It acts like a Fastpass but doesn't have a time limit.

I know someone (it wasn't me, I swear!) who took a bunch of napkins from all the WDW fast food places & she puts them in her kids lunch boxes. It's one way she keeps the magic alive between trips. I may do this next time!

"Say, is that a jeep in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"

Yeah, yeah, I know...it was just there; had to do it.
