Characters that go on rides with you?

:( I've never been fortunate to catch a ride with a character. But I've bounced with Tigger before. :D I've paraded with Pooh. :D And I've ridden on a boat with Peter Pan.:D

Yes it can happen! Very recently actually! I was at Disney World, about to ride Splash Mountain. I have seen Goofy in ride pictures many times. He was walking around near me at the ride queue, and I waved to him. He walked over to the ride attendant and asked something while I had my head turned. I heard the cast member say, "Yeah, sure, it's the last load of the day." Goofy walked back up and linked his arm in mine. I was confused, but he walked right through the queue with me! We only had one other group in our boat with us, it was some college kids. They didn't seem to notice, so it was very magical! I didn't hear a scream at the drop, so props to the cast member! :) In the picture we are wrapped up together like we are terrified. I tried to buy the picture, but the park was closing. I remember the moment without the picture anyway!

I'm not really a fan of character M&Gs, but this person's videos from Disneyland crack me up.

This one is definitely worth a watch. I'm not sure if they actually do this anymore, though. According to the comments there, they can't.

Experiences like this would make a trip special and very memorable. I wish this would happen on a regular basis!

My only experience was riding with Tigger on the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh when I was like 6. He wanted to ride with my younger sister but she started crying.

I enjoyed reading the stories on this thread. I had previously thought riding with a character was stuff only seen in TV shows and movies, like "That Thing You Do", where one of the bandmates was riding with Mickey Mouse on the Matterhorn out at Disneyland.

Snow White went on SWSA with my son on two occasions - the first time on his 2,000th ride, and the second time on the final night of operation for the ride. Both were extremely memorable events, and I am grateful to the cast members who made it happen.

This was a few weeks back (late August). My daughter rode with Drazilla and Anatasia on the carousel. It was in the morning when the step-sisters came out for their first set of their meet & greet for the day.. They walked through Fantasyland and told kids "We are going on the carousel. Come ride with us." Very few people listened or followed. When they got to the queue, they were loading the ride, but they said lets wait so more people can join us. They kept yelling (in their way) to people as they walked by the queue to join them.

When it was time to ride Drazilla insisted that she got to ride Cinderella's horse. The PhotoPass photographer for the meet & greet joined them on the ride and took the picture below. It was a great special moment, but certainly something you couldn't prepare for. Best advice is pay attention to your surroundings and don't be in such a rush to go here or there. Just enjoy Disney and magic may happen.

The step sisters still (at least occasionally) ride the carousel. They were riding behind DD and DGS one morning last week. But it's not something you can plan (or ask) for- it's purely happenstance. But it's awfully neat when it happens!
