What exactly kind of ride is this going to be? Is it going to be a big swing type ride?

it's simply a large hot air balloon. But its going to be tethered to the ground. It sits at the Eastern most tip of Downtown Disney Westside and I believe Steve posted that the basket can hold about 35 guests at a time. And it goes up....sits up there for a bit to give everyone a look around, then it comes back down.

It's going to provide some very good panaramic views of the property but then again so does climbing to the top of the mountain at Blizzard Beach!

I doubt I'll be trying this out.

We had one of these in downtown Baltimore...until a strong wind knocked the balloon into a building, getting the passengers stuck there for a while. Only after that incident did they realize that the attraction, which had been in operation for some time, violated safety regulations.

I am curious to see what it will do for the sight lines in the parks. Has anyone seen a sight test or anything like that yet?

I would imagne at 300 feet it is may be visible from one of them. I know it will have the idea of naturally drawing attention to itself as an attracion, but I wonder how much of a distraction it will be to drivers and such on WDW propery.

The cost will be $16 for adults (any one over 10) and $10 for children. I guess this could change, but that was on the sign this morning.

They've taken this from the Disney Village - Disneyland Paris's version of Downtown Disney. There they have a tethered balloon attraction called Panoramagique.

so basiclly it just lifts u up a little and then puts u back down again? that doesn't sound fun. Maybe they should make like a ferris wheel or something a bit more interesting.it would definately bring in some more people.
