character swim and GF?

Hey all,

I googled secrets to the GF to plan for our upcoming vaca. On one of the sites, a girl posted this - I pasted below:

If you stay at the Grand in the summertime there is a good chance that you will be able to swim (free) with character like Goofy!

Anyone ever heard of this? Any ideas what she is referring to?

Years ago my kids got to swim with Pluto there, but I don't know if they do that anymore.

I have never heard of that. They may have done it years ago when people could be trusted and crowds were smaller, but I haven't heard of it happening recently. That doesn't mean it's not true though - just a well guarded secret.

It seems to me like it would be a tad dangerous for our furry friends to be in a swimming pool. Seems like OSHA might not like that situation. I know I wouldn't if I were.....friends with a character.

Yeah...about 10+ years ago you used to be able to do these things. Back when the characters were a little more water friendly (ski shows, pool visits, etc).

I remember seeing a few characters on waterskis and a few at River Country on some tube slides.

Ah yes, those were the days when Goofy and others would water ski alongside the Ferry on the way to the MK in the morning.

I miss the 'ol days.

I remember seeing Goofy waterskiing the first time we went to WDW - back in summer of '82.
